This morning I went to see Shrek the Third. A friend had won tickets to the premier in my city. It is officially released here on the 7th.

I did enjoy it. There were many delightful moments in this movie, as you do expect from all Shrek movies.

The new characters were ok at best. I did like Artie, (Who was cute, but in a "I'm trying to .... way" wink and the others were funny.

But I cannot stand that damn Prince Charming. What a prat. Without the Fairy Godmother he just sucked.

One thing I did find enjoyable was the fact that Doris (Ugly Stepsister #1) was featured more, and ____ (Ugly Stepsister #2) appeared in it, though I forget her name.


One disappointment was how different it was from the first 2. Both started with the "Once Upon a time" and ended with a catchy song. Shrek the Third had neither, and the attempt at a song in the credit was lacking.


There were many adult jokes, and it was funny laughing along to them with the kids. Actually, I was wondering sometimes what they were laughing at, since it was definitly over their hads.


All in all, a good movie but I would only go watch it at the theatre once. I would buy it on DVD, just to complete my collection of them, but that's it.

Nice try, but it is time for the Shrek saga to end. And at least this did have a definite ending.





They'd better not attempt a Shrek 4.

Edit: Oh no! I heard that there is a Shrek 4 in planning since last year. LEAVE SHREK ALONE PEOPLE! YOU'LL RUIN THE STORY!
