Wanderer
Child
Wanderer,
Where have you been?
Child,
My eyes have seen everything.
Wanderer,
Did you see the great wall of China,
As it stretches out through Asia?
Child,
I walked the wall till the end,
So I turned around and walked back again.
Wanderer,
Did you cross the Atlantic?
Did you fly or did you sail?
Were you welcomed by the New World?
Child,
In a small plane I flew so high,
Amongst the clouds and the birds of the sky.
The New World embraced me with open arms.
Wanderer,
Have to seen the Great Pyramid of Giza?
The last of the seven ancient wonders.
How do you think the Egyptians built it?
Could they really hand lift those bricks?
Child,
Not only have I seen it,
I've entered this ancient tomb.
They must have used thousands of men,
To build this catacomb.
Wanderer,
Did Jesus help you on your journey?
Did the angels pick you up when you fell?
How did you make it around the world,
Without a scratch when you returned?
How did they heal so fast?
Child,
Jesus is always by my side,
As I walk every step of the way.
It's easy not to hurt yourself,
When you travel the world with a pen,
And your imagination helps you fly.

Description:
I got the idea from this, from the poem "What Were They Like?" by Levertov (http://www.americanpoems.com/poets/Denise-Levertov/15411)
But of course crafted it myself.
Please comment on this one, because it's a new style for me and I'd like to know what you think. - Date: 05/27/2009
