Edward led me into his house, and everything in the front room was still. "Where..." I started. "Upstairs. Come on, Alice is dying to see you." he said, his eyes glimmering with laughter. 'Great.' I thought. 'Frill torture.' As expected, Alice was waiting in front of her room's door. I looked at Edward, and he was struggling to suppress laughter, which probably meant something extremely unpleasent for me. "Come on, Bella!!" she said, tugging on my arm. "And don't peek in my head, you cheater, or you'll ruin the surprise!" she commanded Edward, closing the door in his giggling face. "Okay! Dress rehearsal time!" she announced, clapping happily. I groaned loudly. "Come on, Alice! Please?" I said. She just laughed and dragged me into her closet. She sweeped both of our dresses out and handed me mine. "You change in here, I'll be right out there." she said, strolling back to her room, gently humming. I looked at my dress. It was August 6, and the wedding was scheduled for the 13. One month before my 19th. I finally figured out how to get into my dress, and turned to the giant mirror. I regreted it; it was Anne of Green Gables all over again. Alice came back into the closet. HEr dress was almost like mine, just a bit simpler. Her eyes widened, and she almost gasped. "It's amazing on you! Edward will love it!" she exclaimed. "Do I have to show Edward?" I said, my voice groaning. Alice laughed her tinkly laugh. "No, silly! He doesn't get to see until the day of! Why do you think I warned him?" she asked as if I was missing something completely obvious, which I was. Alice and I slipped out of our dresses - okay, so I kinda stumbled out of mine more - and hung them back up. Edward was still waiting outside, and he looked hurt when he saw me. "You didn't want to show me?" he said, his lip puckering. Alice looked outraged. "You peeked!?" she shrieked. Edward laughed, his face crinkling up. "No! I just overheard the conversation." he said between giggles. Alice looked embarrased. "Well, whatever. You shouldn't have been listening, either." she said.
