My day!
What I've done this wonderful day!
Still day one!

Before I continue I have to remind you of one thing.
This entire story happened... my luck REALLY is this bad... None of this is exagerated or made up. Also bare in mind that I had just been sat on a plane for an hour. The seatbelt light had been on the entire time so there were no bathroom breaks.

So anyways, back to it!
Me and a small Asian guy wer the first off the bus. We both ran straight up the stairs and to the baggage carouselle, I dunno why he was running though... But when we made it to the baggage carouselle it wasn't moving. It hadn't been turned on yet and there were no bags, obviously we had to wait. Great...

So I'm stood there, a bladder full of coffee, waiting and waiting until I decided to screw it, and headed for the toilets. I followed the signs to the bathrooms which took me out of some automatic doors and through the concourse. Without even a second thought to where I'd gone I used the bathroom then turned back. How was I to know those automatic doors were one way?! The security guard just told me I couldn't get back through and i had to go and enquire at the BMI counter. Once again... Great!

So off I went, no bags, no luggage, to the BMI counter where I asked the woman if I could possibly get through to pick up my bags. She obviously had no idea as she took around 15 minutes of asking one person, then annother, then annother if I could. Eventually she got told what to do and took me to the security. Here I had to go back through all of the metal detectors, take off my belt, my jacket, turn out my pockets... everything... The search was so detailed I was half expecting to be asked to remove my pants at any minute. Not only did I have to remove all of that, but the guard then continued to swab everything and place it all in a sniffer machine to check for explosives. In the end he concluded I wasn't some kind of Terrorist and let me through where I rushed back to the baggage claim. Here there were a few passengers still from my flight waiting for their bags, this was comforting atleast. So I stood to one side and watched the bags go round and round... and round... and round. The rest of the passengers were slowly trickling away bit by bit, and then before I realised, I was the last one standing there. The carouselle let out a final whur as it came to a stop, my bag nowhere in sight. Great!

So over to the lost luggage claim. I asked the man serving if he knew where my bag was, then had to describe the bag and find my flight tickets and what not to show him. He did a quick scan on the PC and to my dismay looked up and said
"Ah it's still in Manchester! It missed the flight so it'll be sent over on the next one."
By now I just hung my head, how could it get worse?! Well I filled out a form for my luggage to follow me to Denver Airport and off I went, running without my bag to weigh me down to the first security person I could find. I asked how I could get to Terminal 4 from where I was, and he gave me a simple set of directions that I almost instantly forgot. Apparently there was some kind of train I should have caught? But I ended up at the Taxi line. So I hopped into the first black cab I could find and hurridly asked the driver to take me to Terminal 4. He had to pass a security check first though from a woman scanning his badge, and wouldn't you know it? Her scanner broke, so she had to go and get annother one. My window for transfering was quickly closing in on itself as I was getting more and more anxious.

Finally the Taxi got going, It took 15 minutes just to get from one terminal to annother, and cost me $30 to do so, not that I cared though because my flight was leaving at 3:45 and it was now 3:20. I ran into the terminal like a mad man and ran straight to the first British Airways desk I could find, literally throwing my papers at the woman.
"I'm affraid you've just missed the flight. Boarding closed 6 minutes ago."
GREAT!!!
Straight away I had Carli on the phone once more, I had all but given up but her Dad found out that annother flight... back in Terminal one... was leaving soon. I had to get there ASAP so this time I asked for directions to the train once more. I found my way down to the subway and to my astonishment the train was in, and as soon as I hopped on it and sat down it began moving!
Finally some luck!!
How wrong I was.

"Terminal one"
The train told me. Yes the train speaks. I came sprinting off the train, expecting to be shot down at any minute by armed police for running around, I found my way into T1 Departures and ran straight to the American Airlines desk, literally shouting to the woman and gasping.
"I need a ticket on the next flight to Denver!"
"The one tomorow?"
She asked.
"No Todays one"
"Oh... you just missed it I'm affraid."
.......... All together now...... GRRRREEEAAATTT!!!!

so there I am, stuck in London where I've never been before, no luggage, little money, and absolutely no faith left in the human race. I had all but given up when I remembered that my bag might be on it's way to Denver right then when I was trapped in London! I asked the BMI people if my bag had gone to Denver yet, imagining it making a solitary round of the conveyor belt until a hobo took interest in it. To my surprise my bag hadn't yet left Manchester, and still wasn't due to for annother 5 hours.

I canceled my bag transfer and phoned Carli. Sitting on the curb outside she told me how I should be entitled to a free hotel for the night, a meal, transportation, and a spot on the flight tomorow. Well this almost made everything better, so off I went to the BA counter, and somehow... by some freak of nature... everything went okay. I got my hotel pass, my buss pass, my meal pass... everything.

I returned to the BMI counter and asked them to keep hold of my bag when it came in. They'd suggested I wait til the morning but I didn't want to wait that long so I waited it out in the Airport. I bought a cup of coffee and found an internet cafe. What could be better...

After 5 grueling hours of boredom my bag arived so I went to get on the hotel shuttle bus. It took around 40 minutes to show up as i sat outside shivering, then when it did the bus was so full that I looked around thinking i'd probably be standing the entire way.
I was right.
