Woot! I am back from Otakon, and it was oodles of fun. And it was weird coming home, because throughout the hotel and in the restaurants and on the streets and, of course, in the convention center, everywhere there were people in costume and with passes. I bet Baltimore only sees that many freaks once a year! xd Worse, the shops and stuff nearby probably have to train their new employees for that week.
But yes, it was fun. There was a Gaia section, I went by for a while in hopes of seeing Miss Chibi Faery, but then I realized that school had already started for her... sweatdrop So I figured she wouldn't be there.
My friend got a plushie of Ed from Full Metal Alchemist signed by his English voice actor.... Vic-something. *shrug* I wanted a signature from the director, he was there, but..... I missed him. *sob* Oh well.
The dealer's room was HUMUNGEROUS!!! eek *is used to the modest little dealer's room of the Nekocon* I got a good price on the Fruits Basket box set, I bought a huge Fruits Basket wall scroll, and I bought a kimono and there was a guy there who would write whatever you wanted in Chinese on a fan or straw hat. I got a fan that says FOX in Chinese. I love it so much. heart
I bought some gifts for my friends here in NJ, and of course, the one I got for Kikko is panda-related. heart (NOTE: I always buy panda-related gifts for him, no matter how silly they are, because I call him Kikko-Panda.) I got a little Yuki plush for my friend Jessica. > >;; She doesn't watch Fruits Basket or any anime, but she likes rats, so yeah. It's perfect. I bought these little Nightmare Before Christmas statues for Rithu and Amanda. I haven't fully gotten them into anime yet, but they do like Tim Burton-related stuff (I do too). So woot. And I got a random Inu Yasha statue for my mini friend Christina.
Funny, usually when I say "mini friend" I mean Alyssa. *Alyssa spazzes and attacks, causing this journal entry to be cut short*
