Ok, Diamond is a 4 year old Quarter Horse that I ride every Sunday. She is not mine, but I am one of 2 or 3 people that ride her. Normally, I ride her for about 1-2 hours in the arena and she gets bored and becomes a lazy bum. You would swear she was over 18 if you watched her. She's a champion cutting horse so when there are no cows to chase, her mind goes elsewhere lol. It was too muddy and slick in the arena so I went with a group on trail. She isnt' used to being anywhere in the pack but the leader, so she started going nuts halfway through. She was side stepping all over the place!! She only crow hopped a couple of times, but then the rest was just jigging and prancing. Ugh. No prob tho. I got her to follow the pack and then I went out again with two other horses, her owner on Pokey and Julie on Oscar. I was the leader so she was fine the whole time in that group. She was still a little prancy, but she's a baby, so she just had a bunch of energy from getting worked up earlier. It was fun. I like riding problem horses. Sure its nice to ride push button horses every once in awhile, but I like to have something to do when I ride. Problem horses keep me on my toes (no pun intended). It makes your average flatwork interesting.
