I figured that a little journal posting was in order, given my updated signature.
I recently opened my own Etsy shop, where I'm selling kettle dyed sock yarn and spinning fiber. I dye everything myself in my kitchen.
The name for my shop is inspired by a term made up to describe little kitty cheeks -- muzzlepuffs! I felt that this was a very appropriate name for a shop selling soft, squishy, fluffy items. I also have a cat with some pretty damn adorable muzzlepuffs, and I used him as inspiration for my shop logo and design.
Everything is 100% unique. I do not plan on reproducing colorways, and even though I do dye multiple items at once, each item is still completely unique, thanks to the kettle dye process.
The fibers currently in stock are things I would enjoy spinning myself, although I do plan to give new things a try (given that I'm a relatively new spinner, there are definitely plenty of wools and blends to experience). All the fibers are squishably soft, and I would totally love to keep them all myself, if that wasn't a totally INSANE thing to do. :3
I carry only superwash wool/nylon sock yarns because I feel that the extra oomph of the nylon is important to have in a high-wear item like socks. The yarn is also super soft and squishy. Unfortunately, the cone I purchased was a lower quality cone (didn't know that at the time), and it had several knots in it. Skeins with knots are priced at a discount and also have a couple of extra yards tossed in to make up for the inconvenience of the knot. No skein has more than one knot.
It'd be really awesome if you took the time to browse, and I really hope you find something you like.
