Born in 222 BC, near the beginning of the Qin Dynasty, she was raised by her father who was the king's chancellor, Li Si (李斯). She grew up doing political studies and eventually served as a secret chancellor to multiple kings and emperors in later dynasties. She was only accepted to serve because of her abilities as a seer. She was given a set of blank tarot cards by her grandmother who was a sorceress and passed down her traits. Her tarot cards allow her to see the future of whoever touches them. A mere touch also binds your future to her like a contract and it rests in her hands. No one dared to mess with her because she could make your life a living hell, but she could not end it. No one else can use her cards, even if they possessed a similar ability. She has been the strings behind many decisions made by the rulers and the government. She has thrown the non compliant rulers off the throne.
After the death of her grandmother, then her father, her happiness disappeared with them. She heard from barterers in the market one day about traveling westward and the talk of the white skins and their gods with mighty powers and abilities. Curious, she set off westward to find them. In ancient Greece, she met Aφροδίτη (Aphrodite) first. When asked her purpose, Aphrodite was thoroughly impressed by her. Aphrodite treated her as a most honored guest and granted her the gift of eternal youth and beauty. Watching from afar was ᾍδης (Hades). Brewed with jealousy, he banished Jia-Li from the underworld, cursing her with immortality so that she may never join her lost ones. She never smiled since and she's never gotten attached to anyone either.
Throughout her years, a large sum of income has been produced and she enjoys having elegant, unique, and exquisite items made. Her reign ended towards the Qing Dynasty because after that, she didn't care anymore. She decided to let the people run the government for a chance. From that decision, she could no longer resume authority since the change in government and views were so different. Her residence is unknown but occasionally she has a small fortune shop open in the busy streets of China if you know where to find her. Her services [fortune telling] do not come cheap. Some people spend their lives searching for her and her services to learn their prophecies. She is known as both a myth and legend. Very few have had the honor of meeting her. Those who have are usually travelers or a passerby that doesnt know her story. If you look for her, you'll never find her.
