Tori stood there with a passive look on her face, It wouldn't due for her to project the anxiety she felt as she listened to the oracles words. Though the feeling never reached her visage anyone who read her body language would know exactly how she was feeling. Her hands were nearly white knuckled as she gripped the headstock of her guitar and the rest of her was rigid with every joint locked so she could resist shaking. It wasn't a scared shake more just nerves, This meant that there would be fighting and she had never gone into outright battle without her twins support. Though the prospect of battle had her heart racing more than the unsettling feeling of doing it alone, shades of being the god of war's offspring.
Thinking about her twin made her uneasy, Especially after the scene she had found in her cabin about a month ago. She had come in from a day of training with Xeros and Syn, Finding her bed smashed to bits. Among the splintered remains of the woods and the shattered glass she had come across a note written in familiar script.
'Don't worry my darling Victoria. I came by to check up on you but you seem busy.....'
After she had combed through the cabin in its entirety and found other notes that when put together chilled her to the bone.
'Soon enough you will see I am all you need. We are all we that we have. We can't rely on anyone else for anything. Everyone else will simply toy with your feelings and break your heart. I will return for you don't worry. Your bro won't go down that easy. After all this mess is fixed we can live together happily again'
The most disturbing thing about the incident had been the last message, struck angerly into the back of her door with what appeared to be a blade. 'I am always watching. The boy will pay' That and the sudden disappearance of a particular article of clothing.
Since that day she had not been allowed to walk alone to her cabin despite her arguing that she could handle her twin if it came down to it. So Syn and the rest of her friends had been treating her like a baby and escorting her all over the place, It was annoying. She even tried explaining to everyone that she could feel him when she was near, her abilities increasing in potency when they were able to subconsciously reach out and connect to each other. The day of the incident she had been aware on some level that he had been nearby due to her Sword Familiar ability becoming easier to hold.
The thought made her feel a bit paranoid, She looked over her shoulder and as a precaution she mentally tried to reach out to make sure he wasn't around. She didn't feel any suggestion of Arryo being close, though this relieved some of the tension, she didn't like the alone feeling that the lack of connection left. She found herself scanning the group of students that stood around her looking for Xeros, Standing on her toes to see over those that blocked her view. She had been spending a lot of time with the sea prince over the last two months since her drunken episode, getting to know him and vice versa as they began their relationship. They had gone semi official not too long ago mostly thanks to Syn and her mouth, Blurting the news out one afternoon during lunch at the dining pavilion. She she sighed thinking about the girl, She could be a real pain but had saved her the trouble of telling their mutual friends the news. Xeros didn't seem to be here and she wondered why, Shrugging she made a mental note to fill him in on what was happening. This was something that everyone really did need to be aware of, according to her father it would impact them all by the end of it.
As the students began to disperse from the arena, moving with the crowd Tori caught sight of Ares. She had told him about the incident with Arryo earlier in the day when they had all first gathered in the arena. The god of war had been torn in his reaction, Hesitant that his eldest had gone missing yet furious enough to cause a hole in a defenseless oak. He had been so angry that she had decided to just hold off on telling him that she was dating the son of Poseidon, Knowing how tentative that relationship was. He had told her he would be keeping a close eye out for the boy and would be dealing with him, Afterwards telling her about the dangers the book posed. With that information given he left her to take her place in the crowd, giving her a fatherly peck on the forehead. It was always so amusing to see the God act fatherly, immediately turning back to his ruthless self once he was done.
Once she was clear of the arena and campers weren't so close, she tossed her guitar back to sit over her shoulder. She was still pretty shook up about the posable repercussions of the books theft, and made even more uneasy by the oracles prophesy. She wondered who the 'Serpent' was referring to and their reasoning behind taking the book in the first place. Knowing she couldn't answer any of these questions without simply erecting more questions she gave up the train of thought. She only knew one thing for sure and that was that she needed to continue to sharpen her skills, so she headed out from the arena deciding to get something to munch before she found a spot to practice.
