Valentine's & Gaiaversary! |

Well, this is a first for Gaia - two events set-up pretty close together!
First, we have Valentine's Day which brings us delicious (looking) chocolate boxes, & Hang Outs are introduced.
All in all, I find Hang Outs to be a kinda unrefined sort of IM. They're kinda cute, w/ the hugging & kissing, but as a means of a conversation, they're too incoherrent since you can't see what you've said.
And now, we have the Second Gaia Anniversary! A new mansion to party in, then destroy. whee And, two new NPCs who bring more to the avatar look than Gambino, or any other. I want both their outfits. heart
Of course, I'm really excited about the coming ball. I'll try to be on for the begining & end of this one - I always somehow missed one or the other on other events. @__@
Also, I've gotten addicted to a new MMORPG - ROSE Online. ^-^ So addicted I'm part of a game clan on there, which is composed of some of Gaia's nicest people (awww! lol). We also started a guild on here - we are some seriously addicted people. lol
And yep - this was a short update. xd This is the closest thing I've done to blogging in months - my LJ is so neglected.

Well - here it is. The big one. Mini-games have hit Gaia.
So far, I love fishing. But, I also hate it. It makes me want to rip out my hair, stomp my feet, scream obsenities, & strangle some fish. Which means it's addictive & I suck at it. lol
I began my fishery in Bass'ken Lake, w/ Grade F bait & a Basic Rod. After two bucket-fulls of trash, guppies, & one lone bass, I decided to move on to Gambino. What a mistake...
My first foray into Gambino's port was hell. My Basic Rod was to blame - it has no 'pull' to it really. I left after 20 minutes with four pieces of garbage & a bruised ego.
Back to Bass'ken. Another bucket-full there, & I decide I like fishing again well enough not to want to murder all the fish in the lake with a dynamite charge. So, I then decided my Basic Rod must go - it wasn't suitable for a master fisherwoman like me!
I set out to sell a Trunk I had laying about in the dreaded place known as the "Exchange". I hate that place. After waiting for a few hours or so, I got bored, & erm... accidentlyopenedit. Anyhow, a cute little Flower on my Head appeared somehow. redface
But alas - the Gaian gods smiled upon me, & granted me a pink link! I had enough to buy the Strength Rod, & got it immediatly. Then, it was back to Gambino, to show those fish who's boss!
And yes, I did quite well. Very little trash, & whole bunch of seeders! Now, a few buckets later, here's my current fish:
And now, I return to the ocean, to bring more fish to their demise! Mwahahaha!!
I don't know how I'll ever save for an upgrade for my rod. xd

Well, Halloween was terrific. I didn't go anywhere or do anything but sit on my a** & play on Gaia. xd Out of the past three days, I was here about 50 hours out of the 72. And you know the crummy thing? I have about thismuch to show for it. @_@ Full Jack set, two human G Corp shirts, & the zombie set (which I traded extra Jack stuff for to a cool guy).
It's just the events were HARD. Not like in the past, where you just had to lurk/ spam & have items handed to you - which I didn't mind. My dial up couldn't friggin handle the zombie/ human shooting/ biting game. My a** was blasted/ bit about a millisecond after my post was loaded. Bah. My final stats were 55 bites & 7 shots. Obviously, being a zombie was a lot easier. You got shot, you were only paralysed a couple minutes. If you got bit, you were doomed & had to run out & buy a 100g potion. @__@
I hope the actual coming battle system isn't like this, otherwise I'm screwed. @___@
Trick or treating at least was non-competitional, which always wins my favor by default since my dial up sucks balls. Buuut - twenty minutes between candy is just evil.
All the Halloween fanfare rocked though - the town maps, the shopkeepers costumes, the new avatar costumes, even the evil games for items. I loved it, & am looking foward to next year, & all future Gaia events - it'll be hard to make them live up to or exceed this celebration. ^-^

Well, if you've been paying close attention to the QnF, you might have found a little post that would lead you to Gambino's personal journal & his guild, the G Corporation. Something very odd is going to start happening around here, & soon too, by the looks of things - less than two weeks, by my guess.

Well, I went to school today w/ about two hours of sleep under my belt. God-awful-s**t.
Tia's leaving to go back to HAAS - she's silly. I'm not sure if Wenesday is her last day at Keaau, or her first day at HAAS. ;.; I'm going to miss her, even though she never hangs out w/ us anymore. She's a really fun, cool person, & we just go nuts. Our personalities just bounce off each other just right, because we're so alike - but not too alike. She doesn't have my ego, or my cynicism. Tia's just a lot of fun. I hope we still get to hang out though, even if it seems like every friend that's left school never even calls me, & we never hang out. ;.;
I just found out onne of my good guy friends likes this one girl... who I used to be great friends w/, but don't happen to like so much now. The thing that really erks me is that all my guy friends end up liking her. And she's a total naive, shallow b***h. The whole stuck-up sXe, anti-Christian w/ the perfect little model Christian family whose who attitude is "Oh, So-&-So, you may have whatever you like on a little silver platter, but you must love GOD!!" And she's just so... ignorant. After being around her for so long, I would automatically just curb conversations that were getting too smart for her. She's pathetic really, & people like that genuinely disgust me.
And yet guys are always falling all over themselves over her. -.- She's not good looking, she's stupidly vapid... & they lap it up. But I'm going to actually do something this time, & talk my friend out of approaching her. I think he's pretty cute, & I love hanging out w/ him, but I already know she'll reject him. **grumble grumble** A little crusade for me to set out on.
Lastly, Jack Hanna is crazy - really. But it's halarious to see him on The Late Show. xd
David Letterman: So, what does this ringtailed lemur eat in the wild? Jack Hanna: Fruit, grapes, bugs - DL: Strictly speaking - are there grapes in the wild? JH: No, but that's what I feed it.

Well, not much to really report. Really just two things of interest.
Most important thing, & one I am quite proud of: The kind people at Hawtness Inc., in the Exchange forum, donated Ducky a September Letter after I begged & pleaded for one they had up for grabs in a give-away. Now I can go spend my $2.50 on a meal at McDonald's - only kidding... well, not really. I'm such a fatty for that crap. xd But still - I now have the begging prowness of a fairly-attractive hobo! Level up (it's a fun thing to shout in a crowded place, try it)!!
The second order of business:I transfered my lotto funds over to my mule account, because I'm tired of having to subtract them to find out how much gold I have. I'm that lazy people. They are safe & secure there, since I never log into that mule otherwise. 3nodding
Well, I'm off to play some video games - can't decide which one though. : Just reinstalled some of my old PC games I haven't played in over a year, so I'm getting back into those. ^-^ -fahsky-

When I first joined Gaia nearly a year ago (December 28th), I never imagined the site would have a journal available to users. Things were much simplier then. I sort of miss those times, when I was a newbie, all alone & unknown here, w/ hardly any items in my inventory & all the gold in my pocket was my own to spend (even if it was hardly anything). Ah, but it's not like I'm much better off now! sweatdrop Ha - maybe I just like to feel like I'm underprivileged?
So yes, Gaia's changing & I feel it really is for the better. We have so many new features looming on the horizon, & they all sound pretty cool to me. I hope Gaia retains it's home-like atmosphere though, even though many new users join our 'paradise' every day. I believe Gaia is in great hands, & the admin here are very loving to the site. I will stick around for as long as Gaia remains Gaia, & I am enjoying myself. Hopefully, that will be for a very long time to come.
