It's really starting to irritate me.
Seriously, people.
It really is.
Wait, what do you mean what is?
The butchering of foreign words and such in posts. Yes, I do realize that English itself has taken various languages and butchered/mutated them. American English in particular. But others as well.
I browse through Barton and what do I see?....between all the lycan, vamp, demon, angel, fallen angel, kidnapping, sleepover, bar, forest and school RPs, that is. Samurai this, Ninja that. That's quite all right given the current popularity of Inu Yasha, Kenshin and Naruto at the moment, but honestly people, do a bit of research.
Characters are listed as carrying kunais, twin katanas, shiruken, samirai sword, shurikens and as being samauri, sumurai, and kitsune demon. Note the fascination with the Japanese weapons, class and creatures and the lack of the understanding that there is no plural along with a simple spell/fact check.
I have one kunai, two kunai, three kunai, four kunai, etc. I have one katana, two katana, three katana, etc. I have one shuriken, two shuriken, three shuriken, etc.
However, I've got no clue what in the nine bloody hells a samirai sword is. The katana is commonly called the samurai sword but it is not a samirai. No clue what a samirai is. Nor a samauri. Sumurai is something swords online came up with to sell stuff to fanboys.
And then there are the kitsune demons.
....
Honestly? Kitsune are not demons. Nor are they just foxes. Yes, the dictionary says Fox, but thats only part of the definition. Kitsune are kami who can be either benevolent or troublesome, depending on the way you treat them and act around them. Which sort of makes me wonder about these half fox characters wandering around. Did their creators, in their ignorance, mean half kitsune? Or did they mean a literal half fox? Or perhaps the more common anthro fox? The first is relatively unworrying as is the third.
The second on the other hand.....Makes me wonder sometimes about people.
