Disclaimer: It's past 3 AM. My brain shut down hours ago. Don't expect this to make any sense.
In the eternal battle between pirates and ninjas a choose a challenger that bests both these groups: cowboys. Sure, Pirates of the Caribbean and Naruto may make pirates and ninjas seem awesome, but the truth is cowboys, though underrated, kick a**.
Let's deal pirates, first. A bunch of guys sitting on a ship for God knows how long who, today, steal from cruise ships and tugboats. Stereotypically speaking they're dirty, horny, drunks with terrible grammar and a thing for colorful birds. They steal and terrorize innocent people. Mmh, sounds attractive. I'm sure not all pirates are terrible looking, but don't expect to see anyone who looks like Johnny Depp out on the high seas.
Ninjas, too, have very little honor. They were the anti-samurai; cowards who, rather then fight like real warriors, would simply kill from behind. Though their origins are unknown, the options don't exactly make them look to good. They either worked for the rich shogun, simply causing chaos among the people and neighboring countries, or were part of some kind of guerrilla organization. And no matter what anime says, ninjas covered up to stay hidden; there were no pretty boy ninjas or hot kunoichi with crazy outfits. :/
And then we have cowboys. Of course, even they're not all good, but at least with cowboys you have a choice: there are sweet Southern cattle ranchers and then there are train robbing bandits. Unlike ninjas, cowboys and cowgirls could be any race, color, or creed (even down South, during the Civil War). Rather then just fighting for themselves or the rich, cattle ranchers bring the whole world delicious meat and entertainment. 8D Even certain bandits are rumored to have robbed the rich and given to the poor (and no, I'm not talking about Robin Hood). And though I can't say all cowboys and cowgirls are attractive, anyone who works in the sun, building muscle while horseback riding must at least have a nice body. ;D
