I have been at my new job for about 3 weeks now. Boy is it a lot different. You have to remember to fill invoices for certain things (and do them properly), get manager signature on everything it seems, and get used to looking a lot of things up in the register, and remember to speak slowly and clearing into the walkie.
But it's fun. I know everyone there now (it's a small store, so there's only about 15-20 employees max), and they are lots of fun to be around. It's hilarious to hear my store manager and assistant store manager talk sometimes. I think it helps that I'm not the only new person, so I don't seem as bad. And everyone there is very helpful and supportive. And of course understanding because they were new once as well.
While working there we have gotten in a shipment of baby ducks, chickens, and turkeys! They are so cute. Unfortunately I can't take any home with me. *sigh* Same with the puppies that come through. Our groomer has some 6 week old puppies she wants to sell. I wish I had time to take care of one because I miss have a dog, and they are adorable! And are not supposed to shed because they are part poodle. This is a bonus 'cause Bowman is allergic to dog dander or something.
One of the best parts about work is that I'm off no later than 6 on the day's I work. (Most times the store is open to 7, but I have the 'early' shift ). I ride my bike home on the days that Bowman can't come to pick me up.
As I have discovered after the first time, it is a 40 to 35 minute ride home on the bicycle. And the first part is up a steep hill. Needless to say I'm pretty warn out by the time I make it to my house. But I'll slowly get better as I get more used to it. That's the nice part about excercise!
I'm waiting for the day that I'll get home and not be tired from the ride. There's so much to do, and since I get home early, I'll get the time to do it. I just have to not be exhausted first. I'm hoping by next week I'll reach this state. So far I'm just not there. But then again, I've only made the trip home 6 times so far. (I do this Mon - Wed. The rest of the time I have off or Bowman picks me up )
