Okay so, I'll get to the point. I was demodded as of March 29th. Why? "Discussing Moderator/Helper issues in a public forum" I will tell you right now I do not agree with their decision. Yes, I made a single mistake in that field in a guild I am in, but I did so naively when I should have just PMed the other moderator. Yes, I apologized to her. However, the second "mistake" is what I do not agree with. I asked a user in an unconventional way** to be my helper. This is how I will always see it. This user has been banned a few times in the past. Sounds bad enough already, right? Why did I even think about helpering them? Because I dont discriminate. This user knew the forum I assigned them to very, very well. The time they were helpered, about 24 hours, they moved things correctly and they didnt get into trouble. I came back later that night to find out that I not only had a "mod warning" for the first thing, but a complete demodding because of the helpering. They said I had made "another thread" after they had "discussed" with me what I did earlier. I NEVER made a new thread, and I will challenge anyone to find said thread. They told me my actions were disrespectful to other staff members because the user was a "known troll". He was a reformed user. Since that incident? He's gone back to being his old self in the forums. That certainly proves a point there. Yes, I was instructed to e-mail an admin if I didnt agree, but they should have told me I'd be waiting almost a week for the same thing I had just heard, only more patronizing and dismissing. I will always "treasure" these quotes: "your actions almost appeared to be callous in nature" "We have records of and situations from the past that caused us to make this decision" "You know me to be fair, as I've shown you in the past when I supported you in another situation last year" "I am a super busy person, and don't have time to argue this issue with you back and forth on email so I will simply complete our business here" The last is my favorite, closely followed by the "we have records" one. Oh you have records alright. You mean the time I was accused of harassing someone while handling an Breedables scamming case when I had fully documented everything neatly where other staff could see my progress and you STILL came to me about it despite your having not read all of my case notes (and you told me this!)? Then you proceeded to tell me the report would be dismissed because not only was it a THIRD PARTY report, there were no grounds at all for the report. Or do you mean the time I bidded on Eli's profile auction with a mule because I didnt want to scare off bidders but still wanted to bid? Then you proceeded to arbitrarily "discuss" this with me, throwing the rule I helped found for the exchange about bidding on your own auctions with a mule. For one, it wasnt my auction, I was just editing in bids for Eli. Secondly, this was also not "official" or 'stricken from my record'. I'm still a little sore about the issue, but I will get over it. I had the opportunity over 2 years to be a moderator, and I did my job. I did it fairly, and I did it unbiased. That was my motto. Anyone who has come into contact with me and my cases knows this. If I can hold the respect of people I have banned in the past, then I know I was doing something right. If I have younger mods coming to me to thank me for being their mentor, then I know I was doing something right. I'm going to go the mature route about this. This is the only and last time you'll hear about this issue. **unconventional way: I proposed my helpering of this user as a "social experiment" in which I would test the merits of a reformed user (one who had been banned in the past). I only did so because this user would have flat refused if I had asked them directly, and I didnt want to lose a valuable helper because he was put off by other staff members.

	I love the fact that you can get fired for helping them out and not requiring pay. Because I believe the definition of a moderator in the beginning was someone who volunteered to help. rolleyes Stupid. Just. Stupid. Love you <3

	Same as many other users, I had heard rumors and was wondering what had actually happened. I'm very sorry and pained to read the details. I don't agree with their decision but I do agree with your decision to go about it maturely. I've seen you be a mod since you were a dedi, and you've always done a great job. The way I see it, Gaia just lost an excellent moderator, and person from their team. Shame on them. Good luck with your future endeavours, like nursing school and your marriage. I'm positive life has way better things in store for you 3nodding heart

	Very unfair. neutral I have your back for all the times you've helped me. Boombanda is a good example of needing to be demodded. You are not. Good job at not dragging it out, it shows you're mature in this. You'll still be a great person with or without the colored name. =)

	Was wondering why your name was black. Thought you might've possibly stepped down. No one's a genius except for a small percentage of people. Regardless of how smart this person was, though, they still had a higher authority of power over yourself. It's just a matter of a slip up and getting too much of the short end of the stick. Or too little, I guess. The real question of the day is, if you were once again approached to be modded, would you?

	Hey, I don't know you- but I don't envy you this situation. Miscommunication is one of the greatest causes of loss in our time. One thing that has always troubled me- is when people use the line 'I'm a busy person'... so what? I think people who aren't busy have given up on life and are dead. Those you work for are no more above you then you allow them to be. One thing I fear for on Gaia is the mood of 'corporation', or capitalism. I will weep when they lose their mission statement through arbitrary decision-making. Also- for free? Don't they even give discounts on things around the site, do they send you coupons for netflix in the mail?? Something?! ...sheesh. If you hadn't been here twice as long as me, I'd send ya rare item, lol. neutral Also- kudos on sticking with gaia, and not leaving, etc. We, the people of Gaia- make it up. The founders- they can only do so much to change the tide.

	Last line isn't bullshit either. Had she PM'd me about it, I'd have told her to ****** off. The only flaw I see is that Yuzi's interpretation of "reformed" was biased, I had reformed as an individual, yes. She knew this by getting to know me personally. However, I've not discontinued to disobey the ToS therefore I never reformed in the context of a user on Gaiaonline. My most recent run in with a mod was less then a month prior to becoming a helper and it was for trolling. I am not a troll, I just choose not to follow the rules because the punishment of disobedience is not an effective deterrent. Yuzi, you're being far too magnanimous, it is really lame. gonk** D':

	!ow... that's really lame... =( I'm sorry to hear that Yuzi. You play a big part in gaia, many many people know you and respect you. That's gotta prove something! The fact that someone's time is more important than dealing with a situation seems a bit absurd (I'm sure there are reasons that I'm unaware of, but it still seems odd). Modding seems like a time consuming and tough job. If you were fair in your decisions, I think giving you more than a sudden demotion may have been a better choice. I don't know how the inside of gaia works but this doesn't seem to be a very fit ending... I hope things have been better for you since then! =)

	Aww =/ That makes me really sad. I never talked to you but you seemed to be the kind mod. Not to be mean to the other mods and or talk back but they go a little nuts with banning people at times. Then when someone needs to be banned you can't get needed action done. I think its a shame to do someone like they did to you. Then e-mail you back with what they said "I'm a super busy person." rolleyes I get super busy with other stuff but I take time to talk to people since I run a guild and that's sort of like modding. 	I think Gaia really is changing much as I don't want to admit it. You make one "Mistake" and you get demodded? Granted I know there are two sides to the story but wow. I wish I knew what went on in the Admins heads nowadays. Its really was different in 2003. hugs

	I don't really know you. I don't think we've ever spoke to each other. You were lucky to be able to be a mod. It will never happen to me, unless I move to San Jose and spend 10 years getting to know Derek Liu. >_> I can't say it's Gaia's loss, because I really have no idea who you are. It must feel quite terrible, being ignored and shunned as a normal user, because I've felt it too, by those "NPC" aliens. All they did was hover around and only speak to people they knew. They weren't willing to make any new friends. I have a life. I go to school, and I must live on the opposite side of the world. The times I've seen the NPCs were late at night. How much that hurt me must have been unimaginable, and I am sure you are experiencing this same, piercing hurt. Are you over it? I'm not. Perhaps Gaia (including the mods) will learn someday. They should not discriminate.
