So yesterday was lesson day and I approached Mr. Bishop about my desire to switch from an Education major to a Performance major. He was definitely more calm about it than I was expecting but still, he gave me the answer I was expecting all along.

No.

He doesn't feel I'm capable technically enough to be a Performance major and that he wouldn't feel right about sending me off to a school to try and perform or get a Master's in Performance at this point because he'll feel that I'm unprepared and just one year isn't going to do that. So, it looks like I'm stuck doing the Education thing for a year and a half instead of a year. The bright side is that I'll have time to take the extra classes I need to get a double Bachelor's in Education And Performance. So, I guess it's better this way even though it means Monica would have to move here to be with me before I moved there.

Nothing really staggering to report otherwise. Today we went and performed at Deland Middle School (My saxophone quartet, that is) and I think we really captured the kids' attention. They asked alot of questions about us, the saxophone, music and so much more. I was mostly pleased with the performance and was even more pleased when we gave the kids a little encore of the piece I started arranging for saxophone quartet. Take a guess what it was?

The kids loved it and went crazy when we started playing it, so that got me excited. It was alot of fun but thinking about how I had to work tonight kind of ruined the joy.

Damn...I need me a fix of the good stuff right now...
