The Fight For An Unknown Heart
CHapter 1: The War

Darkness surrounded a faint, panting girl. Her almost ghost white skin illuminated the darkness around her just a tad. She looked around panicking with her blood red eyes. She looked down at her small hands; at first they looked like normal hands, when all of a sudden they changed into demonic, bluish black scaly claws. She hid her hands under her armpits and continued to run from an unknown source.
Loosing breath quickly she ran for an apparent reason. Her heart began to thump an unusual way and painful at that. She suddenly tripped over her own feet and fell to the ground grabbing her shirt over her heart. At first she lay on the ground in obvious pain until she heard something and began to crawl while continuing to grip her shirt. Suddenly a HUGE shadow creature arose from the shadows beneath her and just stood there. “Where you going Shayera 13 of moon base 9? You know you can’t run from me. We’ve had this fight every night for the past 18 years. I’m part of you.” Said the shadow creature diving after the girl.
The girl turned over onto her back trying to find out where the shadow creature was. The shadow creature then collided with the girl’s upper chest where her heart would be. As the creature continued to enter the girl’s body she screamed in excruciating pain. The girl’s body shot up towards the ceiling from where the creature was entering her. Finally, it was done or so she thought, the girl lay on the ground panting in horrible pain as she tried to move her hand to her heart, but could not. Suddenly a pain worse than anything the girl had ever experienced came to her heart. It felt as though something was trying to rip out of her body, maybe something was. Just before it happened…
The girl shot up in her somewhat small bed with sweat rolling down in droplets on her face. The girl known as Shayera 13 of moon base 9, ran her hands down her face as she thought to herself. “Why do I keep having these dreams? I don’t sleep and for this reason.”
“You ok Shayera 13 of moon base 9?” asked a boy’s voice from under the covers beside Shayera 13 of moon base 9.
“Yeah I’m fine Damien 13 of moon base 9.” Said Shayera 13 of moon base 9.
“You dosed off again and had that dream again didn’t you.” Said Damien 13 of moon base 9 wrapping her bare arms around Shayera 13 of moon base 9’s almost bare body.
“Yeah, I hate this curse it’s hard, why am I the one with the curse, why did they have to give me the damn curse of the dragon?’ asked Shayera 13 of moon base 9 just sitting in Damien 13 of moon base 9’s arms.
Damien 13 of moon base 9 sat with Shayera 13 of moon base 9 in his arms until he became too tired and laid back down and went to sleep. Shayera 13 of moon base 9 staid sitting up in bed watching the endless darkness of space go by out her window. The silence that wrapped its cold hands around the base was no stranger to anyone on the base for it was everywhere. The darkness of space was no longer eerie for anyone since they had explored almost all of space or what they thought was all.
It was the year 2626 GT, approximately 1,000,000 years after WWIII where the Iraqies launched a nuke upon the U.S. So of course being the U.S that they were sent another nuke right back at them. The world was evacuated, but not everyone made it, only a select few were allowed to exit the Earth’s atmosphere, Shayera 13 of moon base 9’s ancestors and Damien 13 of moon base 9’s ancestors being some of them. The people that made it out landed on the moon and began to create a new civilization upon the moon as they watched from a far their homes disappear forever.
Now a days the descendants of these few people live on the moon doing what they would normally do on earth. The threat of alien attack was upon them, but it was only threats until that faithful day.
The moon had rotated enough so that the sun would peer into the base and tell everyone it was time to get up. As the day went on Damien 13 of moon base 9 and Shayera 13 of moon base 9 walked through the normal crowded corridors doing their jobs as police officers upon the base. The day went on as usual, the normal vandalism on the walls, the few shoplifters at the local liquor store and maybe 1 weapon threat upon the public. Everything was going smoothly until suddenly “ALIEN ATTACK, ALIEN ATTACK, PROCEED TO THE NEAREST EVACUATION SITE IMMEDIATELY AS THE SELF- DESTRUCTE SYSTEM WILL BE ATIVATED IN 10 MINUTES!” said a voice over the intercom.
As people all around ran in different directions screaming in fear, Shayera 13 of moon base 9 looked up at her boyfriend, Damien 13 of moon base 9 and stared at him. “What do we do Damien 13 of moon base 9?” asked Shayera 13 of moon base 9.
“We need to help the people as much as we can first.” Answered Damien 13 of moon base 9.
The 2 grabbed their weapons that they carried on their backs and ran through the wide hallways into a speeding crowd going to other way. Suddenly the base shook violently, knocking everyone to the ground or into one another’s arms. Once the base stopped shaking the lights flickered completely off. “Everyone continue heading to your destinations we have everything under control.” Said Shayera 13 of moon base 9.
The terrified people moved along the dark halls talking nervously to each other. Suddenly loud crashing sounds came from behind the two and then screaming. Shayera 13 of moon base 9 and Damien 13 of moon base 9 turned around and ran down the hallway all the people they told to go down. A few seconds later they came upon a horrifying scene. Three black beasts with scaly tentacles for one set of arms and claws for the other two, chowed down upon the bloody innards of the innocents the two sent in that direction.
Shayera 13 of moon base 9 stood still in both awe and horror of the site that lay before her, until Damien 13 of moon base 9 pulled her away quietly. As Shayera 13 of moon base 9 backed up she tried to stay quiet, but suddenly she sneezed. The beasts looked up at Shayera 13 of moon base 9 and Damien 13 of moon base 9. The two stood still in fear that the beasts would see them and unfortunally they did and came after the two. Damien 13 of moon base 9 and Shayera 13 of moon base 9 turned on their heels and ran the other way into complete and utter darkness. As the two ran through the empty, bloody corridors the two could hear the beasts behind them and getting closer. Then all of a sudden the two took a wrong turn and ended up in a dead end with the beasts right in front of them. Damien 13 of moon base 9 jumped in front of Shayera 13 of moon base 9 and took the hits from two of the beasts as they threw them. The other one on the other hand grabbed Shayera 13 of moon base 9 from behind as she tried to protect her boyfriend that was now on the ground.
The creature wrapped its scaly tentacles around Shayera 13 of moon base 9’s skinny 18-year-old body catching her arms with the rest of her body. She tried to get free from the alien, but it was no use the more she struggled the tighter the grip around her became. Shayera 13 of moon base 9 tried to even stab the creature with one of her arrows, which she held, but the creature squeezed so tight that she released the arrow. The creature finally made a strange hiccupping sound to signal to the others that they got what they came fore. The three left Damien 13 of moon base 9, bloody and oblivious to almost everything around.
Just as the creatures vanished into the darkness of the base corridors Damien 13 of moon base 9 realized that his girlfriend was in mortal danger. So he got up slowly grabbing his small silver sword and ran after them. When he caught up with them a few minutes later a fight broke out between Damien 13 of moon base 9 and the creatures holding Shayera 13 of moon base 9. As blood sprayed the darkened walls of the corridor a voice came over the intercom, “Evacuate immediately, evacuate immediately, self destruct will happen in T minus 5 minutes. Self destruct will happen in T minus 5 minutes.”
Damien 13 of moon base 9 had no time to think about what he had to do so he just jumped at the creature with Shayera 13 of moon base 9 in its grasps and cut the tentacles. Just as she hit the ground Shayera 13 of moon base 9 hit her head on the wall and knocked herself out for a split second.
Damien 13 of moon base 9 ran over to Shayera 13 of moon base 9 and scooped her up in that split second and began to run towards the launch bay. As he ran with her in his arms Shayera 13 of moon base 9 woke up and looked around, blood lined the walls from her fallen responsibilities, lifeless bodies scattered throughout the base floor haunting her every thought, the darkness that unknown to her would probably consume her surrounded them. Shayera 13 of moon base 9 then looked behind them and heard the creatures angry howls that echoed through the corridors, but she did not see them.
They arrived at the evacuation site and saw that all the pods where gone and destroyed except for one final one. Damien 13 of moon base 9 set Shayera 13 of moon base 9 down on the ground on her feet and then ran over to the control and panel and began pressing buttons until the door to the pod opened. “Shayera 13 of moon base 9, you have to get into the pod and go. Get away from here.” Said Damien 13 of moon base 9 still pressing buttons on the dark control panel.
“But what about you?” asked Shayera 13 of moon base 9.
“Don’t worry about me just go.” Said Damien 13 of moon base 9.
“You’ve excepted the challenge of letting yourself get killed so I can live.” Said Shayera 13 of moon base 9.
“Yes now go, they’ll be here soon and you won’t be able to get away.” Said Damien 13 of moon base 9 shoving Shayera 13 of moon base 9 into the open pod behind her.
As she fell into the pod she grabbed a hold of his shirt collar and pulled him in with her. He fell into her arms and they kissed one final time. The kiss brought hope and at the same time dread to Shayera 13 of moon base 9. She knew this was going to be the last time she would ever see her boyfriend again. The two finally let go and Damien 13 of moon base 9 got up from the pod. “I love you.” Said Shayera 13 of moon base 9 beginning to cry.
“I love you too. Good bye my love.” Said Damien 13 of moon base 9 pressing the button to his side to launch his girlfriend away from him forever.
As the pod drifted away Shayera 13 of moon base 9 watched out her small window of her pod and Damien 13 of moon base 9 watched from the base window. The two placed their hands upon the windows in front of them and just watched each other as they got smaller and smaller. Suddenly Shayera 13 of moon base 9 saw hundreds of thousands of tentacles rise up from behind Damien 13 of moon base 9 without him noticing. She screamed and slammed on her window trying to get him to turn around, but it was no use. The tentacles slashed down upon Damien 13 of moon base 9’s back bringing him down to the ground. In a matter of seconds blood splashed up against the windows covering them and then a huge nuclear explosion came just as the creatures jumped up to the window, engulfing the base and everything in it.
Shayera 13 of moon base 9 drifted into a deep slumber with tears rolling down her face and freezing from the icy coldness outside her window. As she drifted in space in an unknown direction. No one knows how long she drifted into space alone, until that day.
