Elenor Rigby - The Beatles. I'm not too fond of the band, to tell you the truth... but it applies to the topic.

It's strange how everyone thinks that nobody understands them. It's like they're the only person on earth who is alone, the only one who feels the emptiness of solitude. Just unlucky them, struggling against the cold, desolate world...

Hmmm....
Wouldn't it be strange if we all felt alone? Maybe the entire world feels the same pain as them, but they just don't seem to notice because they're too obsessed with their own pain. Then it changes from "the world" as their enemy to them as the enemy, refusing to help their brothers and sisters in pain. They become just as cold-hearted as the ones that just "don't seem to notice them", committing the same sin in their own self-indulgence.

Now the question changes from "Why does nobody see me? Why does nobody care?" to "Why don't I see anybody but myself? Why don't I care?"

The moral of this "rant": You're not the only one that feels alone. Everyone is alone. Why don't you join them? If you're too stubborn to realize you're not the only one that feels alone and empty, do us a favor and shut up about it.
