o.o Wheee. I'm going to slip a starting post that I've only used one in here now. I love the characters and setting, but its a hard setting to use in an actual RP with people I don't know very well. x.x Ah well.
It was a warm day, due partially to the fact that the sun was up full blast in the middle of the sky and partially because there wasn't a single cloud to dilute the sun.
The rest of the women had gotten their ocean chores done in the early morning, before the sun was high and had then retreated to the village, where trees grew and shade was plenty.
However Kalani happened to still be in bed. And Lyric knew she would be. Kalani was still getting used to living here, for she wasn't a native to the little beach-side village. So he had finished off his own summer chores hurriedly and went prancing to her little hut at the edge of the village, closest to the beach. "Kal! Come on, wake up!" He poked his head into her bedroom window and chuckled as she groaned and rolled over, shoving her head under her pillow. "Goway.."
"Kalani! Come on, its past lunch already!" He crawled in, plopping himself on her bed and poking her back, then bouncing. "Come on!"
"Uhhhn, Lyyyyy... Noon?" She poked her head out sleepily, squinting at the window. "Gods... Alright, get out. I'll be up in a minute."
"Good!" Satisfied she was awake, he went into her small kitchen to stir up something to eat. It wasn't long before Kalani was out in the ocean up to her knees, harvesting the oysters that grew on the rocks there.
Lyric was sprawled out on a rather large shaded bolder beside her. "It's almost been a month, Kal.. When are you going to get used to us?"
She sighed, glancing at him, "I don't know, Ly.. I'm actually thinking of moving out to the mainland."
"Awh, really?" Like the rest of his village people, Lyric was pretty laid back and relaxed about everything. Though he had a streak of playfulness that tended to crop up here and there. (No, he doesn't wear those pants to intentionally frustrate people. ^_^)
Kalani tossed her head, sending pale yellow hair to rest behind her shoulders again, taking a moment to pause and watch the faint line of land across the water. "Yeah... I doubt I'll go too far... I just want to find people who..."
"Are more interested in excitement and adventure then the weather?" Lyric supplied, rolling to his side to watch her go back to prying the oysters out of their beds. The basket she had tied to her bobbed contentedly beside her, floating with its bottom barely covered.
"Well.. yes."
"Well let's hope you don't have to pick oysters for a living, you're terrible at it."
She turned and stuck her tongue out at him. "Oh shush."
