Shalimar's PoV
Bursting into the bay where I knew mom was at, I paused and looked around. At first glance, it appeared that there had been a fight. However, a closer look showed none of mom's defensive magic had been used; only healing magic on an old man.
Flicking my ears, I caught the words the old man whispered under his breath. Turning to look at him, I snapped, "Watch your tounge!"
"And you watch yours, Shalimar," mom said quietly. Looking at me, she said, "I do understand what you are going through right now, but now is not the time for it."
"You do NOT understand!" I shouted at her, flinging my arm to the side. As my arm extended, a whip of fire lashed out and scorched the hull. "You NEVER understand!"
"I understand more than you know," mom said. I expected to hear a razor sharp edge in her voice, but there was only a feather edge. "But again, Shalimar, this is not the time or place."
"I don't CARE!" I yelled, my flame wings exploding into white-hot flames. Grabbing my head, I sank to my knees. It felt like a spiked ball was rolling through my head.
"My dear faries," my mother said from somewhere above me. "If you will take Rose and the others to the surface, ANTIE-D shall fill you in on why we came here. For the moment, my priorties have shifted to my daughter. The situation is worse than I expected."
I screamed as the spiked ball multiplied and was running races through my head.
