Liminality's Creation Story
Two small lights danced in the darkness, One was Alreith and the other was Faith, Each was lonely without one another, So they decided to create a path between them. With a loom, they wove, Wove with threads of light, Creating two quilts of beautifully patterned light.
Faith created the world of the mortal, Threads of brown and blue made the Earth, Wide expansive oceans set upon blobs of brown. Faith wove the animals and plants, Covered the brown threads with lines of green.
Alreith created a world of deities, White threads sketched a world of blue threads, Gold and silver dotted the whites and blues, Angels were born from Alreith's tears, Demons were created from his bleeding hands.
The two finally met each other, Weaving their tapestry at the ends, Joining the world of the deities and the mortals, Tears of happiness produced the celestial objects, Dotting the night sky of the world, Reaching their goal, they ignored their creations.
The two tapestries became tainted with gray and red, Demons fought with angels for power, Humans fought humans for power, Eventually the threads wore down, Unnatural death ripping the tapestry apart.,
Alreith and Faith were separated again, Seeing what their quilts have become, In an effort to salvage what was left of their connection, Both focused their efforts on the center of their quilts, Producing the connection between mortals and gods.
Mortals can now become gods with pious devotion to law, Gods can now become mortals with immoral deviancy, Alreith and Faith were confident their plan would work, Power to the righteous, damnation to the wrong… A costly mistake…a one they would never know.
Mortal men became Gods with their devotion, Yet their forms still had a shadow, The dark presence behind an object, Hiding from the light… Made them different from original angels. Their numbers grew daily until they tied with the originals.
Before long, A divide grew between original angels and mortal angels, The angels fought for power above, Raining blood and darkness below. Their fierce fighting tore the sky asunder, Affecting the humans below.
Rolling thunder lit the skies, Shattered the buildings of the mortals, Stealing the souls of children, woman, and man, Scorched the grass green black.
In their fear, Humans, in an effort to protect themselves, Rended the threads of the tapestry that binded the ends of heaven and earth, The age of men and immortals living with each other... Disappeared, a space of darkness separating the two, Only death connected the two together, Only the emptiness of chaos.
In lamentation, both angels and humans wove the final part of the tapestry, the night sky marking every snuffed life, marking every unnatural death during those times.
A small monument to the millions of deaths, the silent prayer that such suffering will never happen again, a hope that dieties and man can walk side by side, on the day the sky is opened...
