Hey, I had another idea yesterday that I would have posted already, save I had no internet access yesterday, oh for shame crying . Naw, I was just pondering social issues as I sometimes do, trying to find an intuitive way to fix everyday problems. I was just thinking kinda about the problem in Florida, and maybe somewhere else in the US, that there are a lot of people needing blood, but not enough people who can/will give blood...so much so that when my brother went down to the blood bank to give blood, they gave him $40 in gift cards to Home Depot just for even trying to give blood. As it were, he couldn't because he had just recently gotten a tattoo. But so anyway, definitely there's a problem, and a lack of blood, so I'm thinking maybe the government, at least at the state level should get involved. I think there should be a blood donation draft. If your government can call you into service for the armed forces, or to be a jury member, or order you to take your shoes off at the airport, why can't they MAKE YOU give blood. It's virtually painless, it's replenishable, people do it everyday, if you can, why not give. It's getting to the point now that we really should actually start building up a surplus instead of being in the hole like we are now. Because as regulations get stricter and more people get diagnosed with either diabetes or AIDS, fewer people will be able to give. And I know that stuff can be frozen for years. Just make every capable person give blood and it should loosen the strain at least a little.
