End of the Darkness

Don't ask me to reveal the depths of my heart
You don't want to find the darkness inside
If you pick at the seams you'll only release
My hatred for sin now defining mankind
Don't look to me for your knight on a charger
There's never a time I've risen that high
I am no angel; I'm broken and scarred
Lying here dying, growing colder inside
I've given my all and still been rejected
I'll no longer maintain this life sacrificed
Am I so worthless, unworthy of love?
I'll give up the fight and let myself die
At last when time's gone and I'm cradled by Death
This broken soul finally will be seen to smile
For finally I'll be with the One I love best
Soaring higher and higher, burning bright in love's fire.

the flesh tempts, the soul deceives
a web of sin is what he weaves.
as Death collects us one by one
only through the father's son
can joy be found, an everlasting love
