Heartless leader (no shirt) version Pixel sprite version Chibi cuteness version Darkfire Waltz Version Kazuki Takahashi style CG Lineart version of aboveSo, who the hell is "Demon Atemu"?"Demon Atemu" is an evil, demonic form of Atemu (Yami yugi) from yugioh. (omg yes yugioh.)
Demon Atemu has his origins way back when i started yugioh fanart (this was 2002-2003, before i joined dA.) i had created a fusion of the summoned skull and yami yugi (little creepy bugger he was) and that eventaully evolved (along with my discovery of angsty fanfiction and my rather depressed state of being angry at the world of all the s**t in it.) into a "primitive" demon atemu, it was basically yami yugi in his pants, with the spike things on his knees, he had that kind of piccolo from dbz muscle thing going, and lots of bones showing... (like the ribcage) and horns, and the slit eyes, etc.
I think he's actually a manifestation of my own dark half (i think i'm schziophrenic... i need to see a head doctor...) because i have those days where i'd like to go kill someone/ punch out their lights, or just hurt something (like chopping off ant heads) and instead, i draw yami yugi... all... demonized.
it wasn't until i read yyxy fanfiction that i started incorporating that whole "angst for the pain i've caused Yugi" kind of thing into Demon ATemu's personailty...
I am working on a fanart with Demon Atemu's origin/ whole history thing on it, but for the time being i've got demon atemu down like this:
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2734413/1/this fanfic, the first 3 chapters basically explain his past as atemu, and the first time he "went demon"
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2348499/2/basically describes how gruesome he can be... (this version of the origin of demon atemu is aminly one where his "soul" is revived by Seto, and is placed inside a sacrifical body...)
...
basically Demon Atemu is the result of Dark Magic from Seth (Egyptian god of chaos and destruction) and the only thing keeping him sane (for short periods of time anyways) is the thought of seeing Yugi again, to be with him once more, as that protective brother/father figure, to love and to hold, just once more.
Another thing is that the pain of past memories of where ATemu has killed/hurt Yugi in some way drives his dark side, fuels the rage and power of Demon ATemu.
So basically, Atemu has to be sad, angry, and fearful at the same time for Demon Atemu to be released.
FANFICTION EXCERPTS TO HELP YOU:
Physical description:+To Seto’s horror, there was a demonic version of Atemu, crouching and feasting upon the dead villager’s body, tearing the limbs off, licking the blood off the fresh meat, glistening in the moonlight. Seto realized the crunching sound he heard were the bones of the villager being gnawed and broken by Atemu’s teeth. Seto immediately dropped the clothes and jewelry, ran to Atemu, grabbed Atemu’s arms, and tore Atemu’s body away from the bloody carcass of the villager. Atemu’s naked demonic body was now covered in blood, snarling and hissing. The millennium puzzle was swinging on Atemu’s neck, and the gold was covered in blood. Atemu’s mouth and hands were the bloodiest, and Seto noticed Atemu had sprouted a long tail with a scythe on the end that had blood dripping off of it. Atemu hands had become claws, and horns were sticking out of Atemu’s elbows. Atemu squirmed from Seto’s grip, Atemu’s tail flailing, and Seto’s hands slipped on Atemu’s arms, soaked in blood.
Atemu scowled and let out a hiss, and then Atemu immediately went back to eating the dead villager. By now, the demon Atemu was crunching and gnawing the shinbone. Seto grabbed Atemu’s hair and pulled his head back, causing Atemu to lurch back and hiss. Atemu wriggled out of Seto’s grip, turned around and stared at Seto. Atemu was scowling and hissing at Seto. Seto jumped back. Seto saw that Atemu’s teeth were now sharp and almost canine-like, two long, slender horns protruded from Atemu’s temples, and that Atemu had slit snake-like eyes. A line of spikes started to protrude from Atemu’s back and went all the way to the end of the tail. Atemu crouched on his arms and legs, tail flipping about, and started to crawl towards Seto, hissing and growling. Seto backed towards the exit in fear. The demonic creature that was supposed to be Atemu inched closer and closer to Seto, snarling and hissing, tail moving side to side, the blood covering the scythe on the end of the tail glistening.
+ The creature that lay on the slate was Atemu, only he had long horns protruding from his forehead, fanged sharp teeth, claws instead of hands, stalk-like legs, with claws instead of feet, his big toe had become an opposable claw that was positioned higher up on the forefoot. A long tail came out of his behind, with a long scythe on the end, and spikes came out of his elbows and knees. The cross-shaped scar from the dark ritual on his chest still remained.
The “Scarred Cross”:+Inside spliced Yugi’s mind, Seth regained control. “Damn you… your interference has caused our body to be damaged!” He groaned as control shifted again. Yugi shivered and desperately tired to maintain control. “No… I can’t let him be hurt anymore! Especially by you! I… I don’t care what it takes, I can’t let the darkness consume his heart!”
Atemu heard what Yugi said, and at that moment, flames of dark purple erupted, surrounding his body and incinerating everything around him, including the operating table. Atemu stood in the middle of the flames, and looked at the scientist. Atemu then looked at the table with his heart inside the small blue glass chamber, and walked towards it. His heart beated slowly, and as soon as the scientist saw what Atemu was doing, his snapped his fingers, and the tentacles all started to advance on Atemu.
Atemu scowled, and he moved his left arm, surrounded in the dark flames, melting the tentacles. Atemu then reached and picked up the small glass container. Atemu spotted some wire thread and a needle.
Atemu sat down; the dark flames dissipated, and placed his heart, container and all, within his hollow body cavity. He then took the wire thread and threaded it into the needle. Atemu then took the needle and started stitching himself up. From that point on, Atemu kept stitching his cavity shut, and when he was finished, he was left with a cross shaped scar on his body.
+ As soon as Atemu fell asleep, the ritual began. The soldiers dressed in robes and held up torches where they started chanting the spell. Mahad held his hand over Atemu, chanting the spell as well, and an embalmer stepped forward, dagger in hand. Seto ripped off Atemu’s shirt and took off the jewelry that encased his neck and that draped over his shoulders.
The embalmer then slit Atemu’s body cavity open, creating two cuts, one that went from his throat to his belly button, and a second one that went across his chest. The embalmer then pulled Atemu’s skin back, revealing the muscle and organs underneath, shimmering from the blood that now spilled out over the body. The embalmer then started pulling out Atemu’s organs, throwing everything away except his heart, which he embalmed and placed inside a canopic jar with the head of Seth. The embalmer then worked on removing Atemu’s brain, using the hook tool to pull out the mush was then placed into a canopic jar with the head of Thoth.
Split Personality concept+What the- he’s crying? Tears ran down Atemu’s face. Demon Atemu hissed and then started making raspy sounds, scowled, and closed his eyes. In a raspy voice, Atemu opened his eyes again then looked at Seto with dark purple red eyes and spoke. “Seto… please… help me… I’m scared, Seto… please… help-” Demon Atemu growled, his eyes turned a crimson red and then said in a demonic low voice, “Damn you, don’t interfere! You have no control in the darkness!” Atemu’s eyes turned dark purple red again then started speaking in a raspy voice again. “No… I won’t fall into the darkness… never again!” Atemu screamed and his head fell down.
The Egyptian God of Chaos and Destruction, Seth
+Yugi groaned as he got back up. “You… you b*****d… Let… let Atemu go…”
Seth scoffed. “Let him go? I’m not controlling him. It’s his own free will that forces him to be like this. His own rage and sadness has manifested itself completely. As I speak, Atemu relives every single moment of agony and pain, every moment in his pathetic life where his rage took over, every moment where he feels regret.”
+Atemu tried to keep up with Seth. He didn’t know where he was; spirits and ghouls surrounded only that he. He really didn’t want to be with Seth, but he had no choice. He was lost, cold, and had made a deal.
Yugi’s sanctity for his body and soul.
“Master, where are we going?” Atemu asked again.
“To the realm of the Gods. But I still have to make sure you’re ready for this… It’s not the first time one of my children of darkness has failed in my plots. But I have a good feeling about you… your life, background, and personality… Your brother is really lucky to have you… I envy you and your brother…”
Atemu remained silent for the rest of the walk.
Soon they arrived inside a temple, with a huge slate carving, depicting a murder with the Gods. On another wall were carvings of people, apparently pharaohs, but each had a long tail, horns, and large wings.
“Master… Why are we here?”
Seth chuckled. “To complete the dark ritual that endowed you with my powers.”
Atemu gasped as he saw Seth conjure up a dagger, cloth, and some bandages.
“N-no… I never agreed to this…”
Seth smiled. “I believe you said, ‘Please leave Yugi alone, let him have a normal life, one without my interference, and I will give you this body and my soul.’”
Atemu clutched his shoulders and stared down at the ground.
“Now, where was I?” Seth mused, he waved his claws and the red flames of the temple became a neon purple, a slab rose from the ground, the shadows from the ground came up and grabbed Atemu, binding him to the slab face down.
Seth took out a dark blue orb, and placed it upon Atemu’s back. He took a dagger and engulfed it within the dark flames, and started to carve on Atemu’s back. Atemu screamed in pain, but his cries were muffled by the shadows. The blue orb seemed to melt into Atemu’s skin, and eventually, when Seth stopped carving, Atemu was left with a mark on his back, a blue orb with three fangs pointing up, and 5 long oddly-curved lines branching out to the bottom. It looked like slifer’s head.
“There.” Seth mused, “The mark of Osiris. Now you’ll be able to actually kill the Gods.”
Trying to escape the darkness+Isis grabbed a towel, dipped it in the bowl of water, and started to wipe off the blood from Atemu’s chest and stab wounds. Isis looked at Atemu’s face. “I don’t understand it. He’s not breathing, but he’s… alive… somehow… Oh, what has happened to you my pharaoh?” Seto grabbed a towel and sat on the opposite side of the bed, dipped the towel in the water, and started to clean the blood off of Atemu’s face and neck. Isis held Atemu’s right arm in her hands, and as Isis turned Atemu’s forearm upside up, Isis saw that Atemu had tried to slit his wrists about eight times.
Isis looked at Seto. “Seto, look at this.” She showed Seto the slit marks. Isis was worried. “Seto… I know you know why Atemu’s been acting like this. I need you to tell me the truth Seto. We need to save Atemu before he kills himself.” Seto sighed. “Isis, you know I would sacrifice my life for Atemu, but this is one thing that I think is better kept a secret. Atemu is fine, he’s just going through a hard time, with the loss of four of our priests, and the recent… demon sightings…”
+Yugi’s grasp made Atemu feel slightly warm. Atemu started sobbing. His tears were those of blood. Atemu moved back slightly as he grasped the flap of his scar that was partially ripped open and starting tearing the whole cross-shaped scar open. He could hear his flesh ripping apart, the metal thread cutting through his flesh like a knife through butter, but he felt no pain. Atemu then took the small glass container with his heart in it, and firmly grasped it with one hand.
Seth looked on and realized what Atemu was about to do.
“You fool! Don’t you dare think about it! You pledged your loyalty to me!” Seth shouted, and started running towards Atemu.
Yugi took one claw and buried it into Atemu’s back, grabbing the orb and tearing it out in one swift movement. Atemu flinched, and when Yugi showed Atemu the red orb, pulsating, Atemu knew what it meant.
Atemu took the red orb and shattered it upon the ground.
Seth cried out, “No!” and as he looked at the shards of the orb scatter in midair, Seth realized it was too late.
His connection to the mortal world had been broken.
Seth screamed as he felt his body shatter, and return to the darkness of oblivion.
Yugi coughed up blood as he tried to maintain consciousness. The bullets had landed straight through Yugi’s heart and lungs, blood spurting out. In Atemu’s weakened state, he couldn’t use his pain transfer ability, and had to look on as he watched Yugi dying.
Yugi closed his eyes for a brief moment; his body transformed back to normal. He then ran his hand along the side of the glass container, feeling the pulse of the heart inside.
Atemu looked into Yugi’s eyes. “If you must die, then I must die with you.” Yugi weakly shook his head, but Atemu ignored it, and continued. “There is no way for me to redeem myself now, and I’ll be dead in a matter of hours without Seth’s dark magic… that was the only thing keeping me alive… that and you, Yugi…”
With that, Atemu clenched his fist, shattering the glass container, and crushing his own heart, killing himself. Atemu’s body returned to normal.
The last thing Yugi saw was Atemu’s warm smile, and Yugi returned the gesture, and Yugi and Atemu closed their eyes to the world forever.
The two brothers lay there, on the street, a combination of blood and tears surrounding them, both with warm smiles across their faces.
