Merry Almost Chrismas!
I hope all of you are well and with your families. The last few weeks have been hard and will probably only get harder. My daddy was mobilized from his Navy Reserve unit and will be leaving for North Carolina on January 4th. He will be staying at Camp Lejeune, NC for a week then leaving for three weeks to somewhere else to have military weaponry training and desert mobility and other training. After that, he'll be going back to Camp Lejeune for a week or so and then he'll be leaving for Iraq. His orders say he'll be gone for up to 365 days. That means he'll miss my 16th birthday as well as the school musical and the HUGE Rudd family reunion that he's been helping to plan for the past year and has been looking foreward to for many years. He'll be leaving in 11 days from now and he only had 18 days notice.
My uncle Gary will be coming to visit tomorrow on short notice because he was debating on whether to come to our house or go to my other uncle's house. He obviously picked ours since my dad's leaving. My aunt will be coming on the 26th.
My friend Jill's father died last Friday of a heart attack. (he was 65 and she's only 14) I bought her a beanie baby and she seems to be doing better after the funeral on Monday. We were in chorus the other day and I was drawing a picture for my dad of a little puppy and a bigger puppy and it had a world behind it. We were listening to some christmas music and it came to a slow song I didn't know. You have no idea how hard it was not for me to cry while listening to it and sitting right next to Jill who had just lost her father while drawing a picture to mine who is still alive.
I'm thankful that he doesn't have to leave until after Christmas and New Years though. If he did I'm sure I would be totally out of it and I would probably never recover. My mom is doing alright and me and my brother are too. I'm not sure if my sisters realize to the full extent of what they'll have to go through but they will eventually.
Anyway, thanks for listening. I hope all of you have a very happy Christmas full of God's love and all the joy imaginable. Have a Happy New Year too!
