I've been hearing a lot of rumours about bannings for botting around. I know that these are usually people doing the whole "I'm completely innocent" act when they were indeed caught, but still it is scary.

The problem with botting is the people can trade or buy something off an innocent user who can get the consequences as well. How are we expected to enjoy gaia and use its features, if the using of them is what gets us banned.

I am worried, as I recently sold my Bammi hat for 32.5k in the marketplace, which is what you use the market for, to buy and sell things. So how do I know that gold is legit? How do I know I'm not going to be banned for apparently having botted gold.

I don't, and that is what makes it scary.

The problem with Gaia is the intimidation from the officials. In the report forms it is stated: "Abuse of this form (spam, misreporting, harassment) will result in being banned from the site."
Spam and Harrasment are easy to follow, but the misreporting thing is what puts people off it. Why bother reporting someone to make gaia better if there is a chance that you are wrong, and then the form says you will be banned. Mistakes happen, yet the attitude there is truly scary.

Possibly the worst thing about it all, which keeps normal users afraid, is the fact that the officials don't share some information that would put us to rest. Like the fact that the gift giving feature had no obvious Log (Of course it would, but it was never ever mentioned, so people were afraid of hackings. At least with trades you can see if items have left your account). Or like how the latest items released accidentally (The Cap for the Word Bump) is apparently having people banned for expoliting a glitch. I know, its bad. But the people who buy them off the market and didn't know it was unreleased are innocent.

Gaia is truly scary. Its like some war time where you don't know who is your friend and who is going to betray you. You don't know when the officials will come and round you all up for the firing wall.

All that is needed from the Admin is not new features like a Battle System. It is to be seen. It is to post when something wrong happens. Its to say "Hey, there was a glitch releasing the Caps early, please don't buy them or trade them, just leave them in your account."

Be seen. Thats all most people really want. Not hiding behind NPCs like Rina.
