Came back after few months... Had a break because... Well: life happens. First I had some issues with my eyes which forced me to limit screen time, then there was some really exhausting events at work which caused that after getting out of work I was too tired to do anything even play on Gaia... Then there was holidays and I finally caught some air and energy, but in the middle of my leave I was informed by my boss that during my absence I was promoted stressed ... Which was sneaky and really nasty... Usually - I believe - it's customary to ask the person if they accept the promotion before forcing them into it... And what bloody kind of policy it is to promote someone just because they've already worked a year (and I know this happened because, apart from me, only one other person got promoted for whom being barely able to stay a year is their one and only accomplishment) and knowing full well the person in question doesn't look for any promotion and should she be on place she would most vehemently oppose it with all her might. Damn. Well: should it be promotion in name only I wouldn't mind so much (thought I would still find it silly fools game), but apparently now I have to give up the part of the job I like most and take care of duties which I find alternatively boring, irksome, tiresome, infuriating and pointless - which is stupid. I'm sure people exist for whom those duties would be pleasing and nothing like an abhorrent chore and waste of time why not ask them to do it instead of me? I also wouldn't mind doing them from time to time pro publico bono at my previous position (as I did a few times) when I could also, when overloaded with my usual work, flatly refuse doing them on the basis of them not being listed in my list of duties - now I don't have the privilege. Also I already know the other promoted person won't be of any help, as my boss already informed me that she won't give him any knowledge about how to do those abusive tasks in fear he messes them up... So to sum it up: one promoted person gets banned from doing what she likes doing and gets the share of job which she finds disgusting and which is far more than what she bargained for, and the other gets banned form doing his previous duties but won't get any new ones because he's incompetent. Oh joy... Oh the logic of current days motivational techniques stressed ... "Let's make being an incompetent lazyass a virtue which gets awarded and being a valuable worker a fault for which the person should be punished" - and in most cases punished so effectively they would leave the job and look for employment elsewhere I might add... I'm sure there is some method in this madness but for the life of me I can't see it stressed ...
