The rainy day got me down. But the sun's rays have begun to peak through the thin whisps of clouds that still hang high above. There is not much activity by the animals of the trees, the birds and the squirrels. I believe they are chilled by the sudden gusts of wind that ripple through the leaves. I myself am quite warm inside this house. Fall is here, there is no doubt about it. Gone are the warm summer days filled with stifling heat and blistering sun. Gone also are the carefree months of joy and laziness. Now there is much work to be done, for I have begun my studies with a master of language and it takes up much of my free time. Also, to keep from having to hunt for my meals, I have taken to working for a neary farmer. He needs help with his crops and, for my assistance, I am given a fair share of the harvest. I shal have to find another job before winter sets in. It is strange to me, how these people are not so wary of the Drow. I recall many visits to small communities in which I was shunned and turned away. Perhaps the legends of Drizzt Do'Urden have softened the hearts of many in this world. I should like to meet him one day... To meet the elder brother whom I never knew...
