"Ugh...I'm so hungry..."
Aussa sighs and glances up the tree at Koopa, who was laying face down on a tree branch watching at the four remaining members of the house sittin around a campfire. "We do have a few fruit left. Wan't some tangerines?"
Koopa made a small gagging sound and turned so that she was now laying on her back staring at the sky.
"Why are we camping here anyway?"
"One of my friends spotted one of Forb-Lex's wolves here. Don't matter, there's nothin here now."
Sure that Lex and his flunkies were no where near they're current location, they rest of the group settled down around the fire.
Calico was just finishing the last the fruit when his nose shot into the air and twitched. He slowly turned his head, following the scent, toward a nearby bush. One large red berry glistened in the fire light. Without any hesistation, he made his way toward the bush in short bursts of runs. As he got close, the berry dissappeared into the bush, and he followed it. Whiplash had noticed Calico was on the move and silently slipped pass Aussa and the sleeping Shalimar.
Cali was nipping at the berry now, unaware of the creature that was sneaking up behind him. It was a large snake, only it's scales were a shiney light blue. It's eyes grew brighter and brighter as he approached calico.
Without warning, two beams shot out of his eyes, but instead of hitting it's target, they hit an oak tree that was close it the snake. Something had slammed into it to make it miss it's target.
The tree that was hit had dissappeared within a few seconds with no signs of it or it's remains. It was Whiplash. The chain rose into an S-like posistion and watched the snake. The icey blue snake, angry with Whiplash's interfearance, fired beams of it's eyes once again. Whiplash skillfully dodged them and began to wrestle with the snake.
By now, Calico had abandoned the berry that lured him away from camp. He returned, squealing to Aussa about Whiplash's fight. Aussa wasn't sure what was wrong with him, so she yelled up to Koopa who joined them a few seconds later. The two of them were trying to understand what Calico was squealing about when the two snake creatures emerged from the bushes tumbling over each other. In the midst of the struggle, the snake fired beams from it's eyes one last time and hit Whiplash just as it was thrown into the camp fire. It melted instantly like a chunk of ice.
Koopa scooped Whiplash into one of her paws and held it's head up with the other.
It swung it's head around and nodded toward Calico, then fell limp in her paws, and faded away until it had completely dissappeared.
Koopa stared at her paws for a second before looking up at Aussa and asking, "What the heck just happened?"
