In the darkness there is always light, but in the light there is never darkness...

Hynoki's Story...

gaia_angelleft gaia_star gaia_angelright

First of all, to my fans, yes I'm back for good this time! Secondly, this mini-series I'm creating now is about Hynoki (my avi) I've been writing her story a long time, it is finally time to reveal it to you. You may have noticed I have deleted her old "avi story" entry in the journal, that is because I did not like the writing in it - it did not grab the reader properly and in a short amount of time to keep my fan readers interested. So I have completely redone the storyline, the history, even the character building... So sit back, grab a cup of coffee and enjoy, the story of Hynoki: A mini-series story.
(yes I'm still working on a title for the story: even after all these years)

Breaking Midnight: Part 1
Two figures walked carefully through the dense forest. Shadows hid their features and their surroundings, making them cautious as they moved from shadow to shadow. One paused, a tiny light reflected the iris' making them seem like little glowing orbs that blinked in and out periodically as the figure moved them about. "Tanish, do you think it's safe? We can't just abandon her!" The first figure turned towards the other, a gentle voice but wavering with fear. Apparently she was a woman, petite in size, but sure-footed. Her companion was larger, but more stocky in build than her, eyes that darted every which way spoke volumes to the fear they both felt. "Adoni, she's not our kind, if we keep her, she will continually be in danger! If one of THEM get hold of her, there is no telling what will happen to the rest of us?" His gruff voice gave off his masculine identity. Adoni looked down to a shadow covered bundle in her arms.
"Oh, Tanish... they gave her to us... how could we give her up?" Adoni's voice broke with the thought and choice she now faced. Suddenly a distant glow, small and tiny, danced towards them. Holding tightly, but not crushing the precious life within, to the bundle in her arms, Adoni nudged Tanish and pointed through the shadows towards the dancing light. "Don't move, it could be a trick." Tanish warned, pulling Adoni back more into the shadows.
Adoni held her breath, she didn't want to be found, nor her precious bundle she had carried all the way here. When they watched, silently, the little light dance a moment before their hiding place then stop, Adoni couldn't swallow the lump of fear and dread in her throat.
Tanish placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder.
Just as they thought it would pass them by, it suddenly grew brighter. The darkness disappeared and the shadows that covered their faces and fearful trek through the Dark Forest were chased away. "Tanish, oh!" Adoni shielded her eyes by ducking her head closer to the bundle in her arms. Tanish remained frozen in his spot. His face a mask of respect and sadness, as he realized who they were facing. "Adoni, it's ok, it's one of them." He nodded his head gently towards the bright light, which now began to fade only a little to allow a human like form to become visible.

Tryni looked at the couple, then the bundle in the woman's arms. She noticed the clothing the two wore were tattered and torn, even they looked in need of a good brushing and shave. "Be at peace, the forest sleeps tonight. My People have put the forest in a deep sleep this night." Tryni looked to the canopy above them and smiled warmly. "P-please, must we..." Adoni looked pleadingly at her husband. Tanish only nodded, "It's the only way to save her, she is, after all, one of them." Adoni's tears fell freely as she looked at the tiny bundle again. "Hynoki... please do not forget... we, your Ato and I love you." Tryni came to stand before the woman, her arms outstretched.
Adoni hesitated as she looked at the creature before her. Stowing away the memory of the creatures exact features, she took note of the gentle tone of skin, the small height that barely reached her waist - though without the creatures power she would only be as tall as her thumb. Adoni also noticed the creature wore a linen garment of some special material not known to any other creature of the world. It flowed about her in a mystifying way that made Adoni envious. The creatures green eyes seemed to swirl in a strange and mystical way, her eyes never blinking, she seemed to take in more than most would in a long time staring.
"The child must return to my people, Zartoch will not find her there. She will be safe from him, until she is old enough..." Tryni spoke the words solemnly and gently took the baby as Adoni reluctantly released the child to her care. Tryni looked at the babe in her arms, jealousy pinged her as she watched the child sleep. Completely oblivious of all the danger she was in, the child slept. Tiny, but little bigger than a hand, the child Hynoki smiled in her sleep.
Adoni turned away, leaning her teary face on her husband's shoulder. "Please, tell her of us when she is older... Maybe she will remember us. Tell your King, we did our best for her..." Tanish held his weeping wife, her stifled sobs racked her small frame. Tryni nodded quickly, then with a warm smile and a gentle breeze she shrank into her normal size - about the size of a thumb - her little light she emitted blinked behind trees and rocks until she was out of sight. Leaving Adoni and Tanish in the darkness of the Dark Forest.

"Well, well, well, looks like I've found a couple of spies!" A gruff curt voice broke through the darkness behind Tanish and Adoni as they returned to their little village. They froze in fear, Tanish held his wife's hand tightly as they both moved to face their follower.
Lights that lit the small central doorway of the village lit up a stout ugly man's face. He stood the same height as Tanish, but was ten times more cruel and ugly. Where Tanish was handsome in appearance, the other man was two times more ugly, for he wasn't human, but a Gorg.
"Now, let me guess, you two are not spies, but little villagers who have lost their way?!" The Gorg sneered with a sarcastic laugh. Three other men, two humans and one other Gorg who was smaller in size but matching in ugly, stood behind the first Gorg. "Grab them and bring them with us, we're going to see King Zartoch!" Tanish pushed Adoni towards the village while he leaped at the ones closest to them.
Tanish let out a gasp of air as the blade cut through his flesh clean through. "Looks like your not worthy to visit our great king Zartoch, at least not alive!" The Gorg jerked the blade out and watched with disgusted pleasure as Tanish fell to the ground in a pool of blood.
Adoni had not heeded her husband's final warning, but had watched in horror as the Gorg impaled him. "No..." Her whispered words melted into the air as her eyes were wide with anguish, fear but mostly sadness. "No... Tanish!" She pleaded. The large Gorg caught her roughly by the arm and pulled her to the others with him. Adoni tried to ignore them, tried to free herself from his firm grasp, but failed with every attempt. Pain racked through her body as one of the human males injected her with a needle that held some sort of liquid. "She'll talk... this will help loosen those lips of hers!" The other Gorg cheered and the last thing Adoni thought of as her mind became fogged and drugged, "Hynoki..." the name escaped her lips as she fell into darkness...
