There was a moment of hesitation as Ty wondered if he should leave his sister alone. She'd been going through some tough s**t recently and he wasn't quite sure if she was really stable enough to be gong around beating up vampires this strong.
The hesitation was completely wiped out though as she tore the head off of one of the vampires with her bare hands, blood spurting up and bathing her. She was nearly soaked in it but you could very clearly see the insane glint in her gold eyes and wide smile that took up her whole face. With her freshly chopped hair standing on end and her clothes torn and soaked through with blood she looked like a psychopathic hobo. Deciding he didn't really want to be anywhere near her right at that moment, Ty forced his legs under him and pushed himself back into a standing position.
Every muscle in his body was screaming in sheer agony. It felt like someone had gotten his muscles and tied them to the bumpers of two cars and were now stretching them to breaking. Yet the place where water was supposed to be was just a few feet in front of him.
Breaking through the first stand of trees Ty felt the overwhelming power of the forest swallow him. It curled around him like a physical weight, holding him up but making it a lot harder to move forward. Usually he didn't feel it this bad. The forest was always this powerful but moving through just took a little more effort. This weak he might as well be trying to walk through a wall.He didn't think he was that far into the trees but the sound of battle had completely died behind him, snuffed out by the sheer force of power
. Still he pushed forward until he could feel drops of water landing on his face. Eventually he turned a corner and there she was.
Water without a vessel was just that, water. It was water in a vague shape that could resemble the curves of a woman. The water that made up its body was in constant motion, frothing white like waves, around a center that was too black to see through. A teal tinted light shone from where he assumed its eyes were. It was the furthest from human anything could get, it was a walking ocean, and so very different from the water goddess he was used to see it. The one that changed aspects of his wife's bodies to match its tastes.
The second he walked into sight that creature lifted its head and focused its eyes on him.
Then it screamed.
It was a gurgled scream like someone that had water in their lungs, or rather something...cause nothing about that scream was human. It was an ancient sound that froze Ty in place and made fear roll through him strong enough to override all the muscle pain. Courage blinked rapidly on his wristband then completely shut off, washed away before the sheer force of his own horror.
Rising up the element, as ancient as the world...perhaps even older towered over him. Still screaming it jumped forward and crashed into him with the force of a tidal wave.
He probably should have gone flying, but at the exact same time the forest tossed its own power at his back, keeping him place. Unfortunately this practically crushed him between two super powers. Screaming in sheer agony as he heard and felt most of his bones shatter Ty could barely keep himself conscious as he watched Sora's eyes shoot open. The wave, focused itself into a thick stream of solid water and forced itself in through her mouth, nose, eyes, and ears. Her body started convulsing in his arms, head snapping back and her back going rigid like she was having a seizure.
Then just like that it was over.
The last of the water disappeared and the two forces of power evaporated from around them, letting Ty's practically demolished body fall limply to the floor with Sora on top of him.
"Oh GOD. Ty! Ty, come on are you okay? TY!" Sora was conscious almost immediately. The wound in her side was gone, the blood washed away under the sheer torrent of water, and all she had to show for this adventure was looking like she'd just crawled out of a pool. Water dripped from her wet hair and her clothes clung to her body.
She could barely bring herself to so much as tap Ty on the cheek. "Ty? Come on say something..."
She didn't want to consider what might be broken, but considering all his limbs were at weird angles and he looked like a giant bruise she guessed it wasn't really good.
Gently she tapped his cheek, and was relieved when his pain filled eyes turned to look at her. There was a slight twitch at the corner of his lips, whether it was an attempt at a smile or something else was pretty much open to speculation.
A soft rustling noise was what finally snapped her attention away from Ty. Instantly Sora was on the alert. Magic crackled around her as she leaned forward, trying to put herself into a position where she could shield him if she had to. Instead of a herd of crazed vampires though, her eyes were met with a gray unicorn.
She'd never seen a gray one before. Usually they were white or black...they even had a purple one in the stables back home. This one was alien to her. It had a dull gray coat and a horn that was black and twisted, and looked a lot like a burnt piece of wood. It's mane and tail were so long that they dragged behind it and were littered with debris from the forest. It limped and stepped very gingerly on it's front leg, as it hobbled towards them. Since it didn't really look like a threat Sora eased back and watched as it slowly closed the distance between itself and Ty' shattered body.
Gingerly it came right up to him and lifted it's leg, the injured one, so that it hung over Ty's face. This close Sora could see it had a gash in it's leg, the blood thick and goopy was clear and colorless.
Open his mouth.
There was no voice, and the unicorn's mouth hadn't moved or anything but she could tell that it was the one speaking. Slowly she did as it asked, flinching as a hiss of pain slipped from Ty's throat as she pulled his jaws open.
The unicorn didn't move as a drop of the clear blood seeped down it's hoof and into Ty's mouth, than another. Sora counted about ten drops before it pulled its hoof away and she could actually hear his bones fusing back together.
"Ty?"
His eyes were growing focused again, and a sense of relief flooded through her. Lifting her head she was about to thank the strange unicorn...but it was gone.
"What the ******** did you give me?"
Looking back down she was surprised to see Ty looking healthier than he had in a long time. There was color to his skin, and he had his tan back. The circles under his eyes were gone and his bones had apparently fused painlessly back into their proper positions.
"Oh thank God!" She flung herself into his arms holding him to her, glad he was okay. Then pulling back she punched him in the face.
"OW! SORA WHAT THE HELL?"
His nose broke but was already healing which upset her a little. She kind of wanted him to have it for a while. "Don't you ever do that again!"
"I saved you!"
"Yeah, but I wouldn't have needed it if you didn't think fighting a hundred vampires was something you could do alone!"
"Whatever...ungrateful b***h. I don't know why I even try."
"Yeah exactly, I don't know why you do it either."
Getting to her feet she dusted herself and yanked him up, and then into a kiss. It was rough kiss, hard and passionate and angry, and ended just as quickly as it started.
"Let's go."
"You know I don't get you sometimes. You slap me, than you kiss me...you know how much pain I just went through for you? CAN YOU EVEN COMPREHEND?"
"Oh shut up Ty, You don't think having a part of me torn out and then drowning as it goes back in didn't hurt? Cause I can tell you know it sure as ******** didn't feel like skipping through daises."
"Witches"
"Vampires"
They stepped back out of the forest, and the power lifted from around them like a suction cup getting pulled off. It felt kind of weightless after.
"Are you guys having another spat? I could hear you from out here." Kari was lounging against the remains of the fifty or so vampires she'd been fighting, legs crossed and a smug look on her blood covered face.
"Wow..."
"I was bored."
"Did you have to make a chair?"
"I. was. bored. You guys were in there for over an hour...I mean really what else was I supposed to do? Do you like it?" She grinned, hopping off. "Sora how about you rinse me off, and we can go see how everyone else is doing?"
"You're insane, I don't know how I'm related to you."
"Whatever.." Kari said smirking "it's not like you wouldn't have done it." Spreading her arms she stood patiently as Sora aimed some water at her, washing the blood off her skin.
