Many of you get bored in class and doodle, well clearly that's what I do too. Sometimes I really like my doodles, like the Puck earlier on, and want to make them more than a doodle. I doodled my OC in class, and found myself wishing that it could be a super cute cleanly done chibi. Since I was still figuring out SAI, I chose to use that as an opportunity to gain some experience instead of scanning it in, getting rid of all the blue lines, printing it, coloring it, scanning it again, and then smudging. Because, honestly, I was getting sick of all those steps! So I scanned it in, and then used it as my bottom layer in SAI, and used linework to translate all of the lines I already had into SAI before deleting the crappy doodle. From there I just colored and shaded to my liking. I of course reduced the size of the finished product so that it could fit a gaia signature and not be so gargantuan as the original is.
