Appearance: Very pale, but not as pale as Rizu. He has tan hair but dyed it darker and one crimson eye and one blue eye. He’s lanky and has abnormally thin wrists and ankles. He has a star birthmark on the top of his left leg, which he hides with black cloth he ripped from Rizus old shirt. He goes to Seiyo with Rizu and can see charas. He used to have one, but his body wasnt compatible with the chara, and it got sick. Currently its in his egg. Kani also loves bracelets (MANLY ONES. >8D.), and Rizu will often buy them for him when she gets enough money. Kani’s horrible with putting ties on, and hates wearing shorts, so he wears jeans with his uniform and just throws his ties on.
Personality: Very clingy to Rizu and her guy friends. He’s terrified of thunderstorms, a trait shared with Rizu. His best friend Naoki, whom he calls Nao-chan, describes him as a cute devil in hiding. Kani is amazing with solving problems, and he loves to dance too. He’s great at using any long weapon, even something simple like a pole to defend himself. He also has a very sarcastic self, and is known for his boyish smile. He also makes puppets when he’s bored.
Powers: Kani can lift anything thats very heavy with no sweat. He can fly (esper strings,) and can lift items that he doesnt need to touch either. He can see charas. His red eye can detect how someone feels, because they radiate colors that depend on how they feel.
Past: As being born on the streets in Southern Italy (known for its poverty), Kani has no idea who his real parents are because he had moved to another country. His older sister Rizu, about a year older, only knows Kani because doctors did blood tests on them. She’s the only other one besides Kyoko (who found out) he is an Esper. Kani was adopted by a young couple who did not know how to properly train children, therefore followed what people in movies did and beat them. Kani and Rizu ran away, but got separated from Kani when they were running and Kani got kidnapped suddenly. The kidnappers were the same people who were in the anti esper gang, a gang in North/South America and Europe, that tries to kill all espers. They were going to kill Kani as well, but he escaped by messing with their emotions and then ran away. He stopped at a barn and found a horse, and stole it from the barn. The horse and Kani made it to China, until the horse died. The whole journey took about 2 years and by the time he got onto a boat to Japan, he arrived about a month after his 11th birthday. He was found wandering alone, and was taken to an orphanage, where he got very sick from lack of shots. About a month later, when Rizu passed the orphanage on her way to school, she thought she saw him in their through his window. She came back with the guardians to set him free, but he didnt remember he and attacked her. When Rizu’s hat fell off of her head, Kani suddenly saw her eyes and dropped his weapon (a lamp) and ran up to hug her. The day they were reunited was December 14th, his birthday. He transferred to Seiyo, and then became friends with someone named Naoki, who took him in because Rizu was afraid of him living with her, because Kyoko at the time was targeting them.
