I dreamt that there was a river before me. It looked like it was something out of a watercolour painting, the shades shifting swiftly & swirling in small eddies while foaming gently at small rapids. There was a stepping-stone bridge stretching across it, but I couldn't see the shore on the other side. I began to walk across it, & since the stones were flat & not at all slippery I made progress rather quickly. However, when I raised my head, I found that I could still not see the other shore. I turned towards where I had come from & felt a strange pulling sensation like my body was stretching like taffy. The world blurred around me, seemed to bend, & then I was standing on the bank before the stepping-stone bridge, exactly where I had started. I kept trying to cross the bridge, but the urge to look back was too powerful to resist. Finally, I woke up feeling frustrated, confused & tired. It was one of the most annoying dreams I've ever had.
