Thanks, Jay.. for that lovely.. Recap on my night. When, in fact, there was no whipped cream on anyone's faces, we DID pelvic thrust as a group to the song.
Hello, readers. It's day 10. And I feel like you must be SO interested in my life. So I'll let you in on a few fun things that happened on this night. The best night of my life.
Yes, as I'm sure you've already seen me mention, I went to a Ludo concert tonight. It was.. simply.. amazing. For lack of a better term. There was no term to describe this night. Just full of.. FUN.
I'll start from the beginning, yeah? If you're not interested into reading EXACTLY how my night went down, you can just skip down to the row of asterisks. That's where it stops. c: "Enjoi."
~Okay. So. The theme for this tour of Ludo was "Space Dracula's Basketball Expo." Great, right? The idea was that for each night on the tour, different places would get a different theme and dress accordingly. Sadly, though, not many people DID dress up.. but that's hardly the point. We did dead-like makeup and fangbite marks on our necks in sharpie. It rubbed off terribly by the end of the night, anyway.
Moving on. I'm about to list a few bands for you guys, if you're interested at all. It's Indie. It's rock. It's fun stuff. But if you're into like.. screamo, death metal, or .. anything along those lines, these bands are NOT for you.
The First opening band was called The Stamps. (The lead singer was intent on convincing us to say it with a British accent like they were so much cooler. "Wee arr thuh SHTOMPS." wink They were actually VERY fun to watch. AND dance to. The second band, Tommy and the High Pilots, .. is a close #2 in my list of favorite bands. Great stage presence, fun to watch, and above all, good music! Band three, imho, was just awful.. They were Sparks and the Rescue. Far too concerned with his acrobats onstage. He also knocked his mic stand onto a girl's head in the front row.. then proceeded to "whip his hair back and forth".. quite effectively soaking everyone in the first few rows with his sweat. Also, he was wearing a girl's t-shirt. I guess you get my feelings. Though, I did give him a hug afterward. Then he asked us to hide him so he could have a drink. A drink drink.
ANYWAY. Onto the best of the night? I think so. Take a guess? YES. It was LUDO. Good lord, just thinking about them makes me smile. Such great personalities. Such great music. I wish I could remember the exact order of songs.. not that you, my reader, would care about. But, for my own benefit. Ludo is very good with communication and interaction with their audience. My own personal experience? There are quite a few. But just from tonight? ~I was holding up my camera while lead vocals, Andrew Volpe, was squatting near the front of the stage, fixing some sound equipment. I held it up, and he looked at me. Now, I have to say, I'm not the best with eye contact. I got scared, yeah? So I put the camera down. That's not all, though. He looked at me. Smiled. Then frowned. The kind of playful frown you'd give someone to tease them. Or maybe, that's just what I would want to think... I'm a terrible person. And he's married. xD A second experience? SURE. ~Andrew Volpe. Smexy sex god. Vocalist. Comedian. There was a break in the show because Andrew's pedal for his mic was running out of battery. (The pedal makes the sound echo.) So he called over to a guy to get him a battery from his car. Yeah, yeah, funny, funny. So Tim Convy (moog - ist) asked him a question. "What was your favorite part of this tour?" He gave a quick reply.. something like.. doing basketball drills for the crowd the night before ours. (Their theme was basketball.. duh?) And he said.. "But tonight.. we'll top that." This is where it got.. Steamy? Hm.. Read on. Tim says.. "I thought you said "tap that"." and proceeded to ask what the whole point to that saying was. He said he knew what it meant, but where did it even come from? So.. Andrew, being his poetic self, stepped in for a little English lesson. His reply? "Tap. You know.. it's like.. when you tap a maple tree.. or a keg.. and liquid comes out." What a reaction from the crowd. Awfully funny. Then the guy came back with the battery. Next song.
ANOTHER STORY? OKAY! ~Their final song for the night. "Love me Dead." They gave us a choice. A pretty funny choice. They could either stay on stage with mics and all, or they could come down into the audience with just acoustic gweetars and play for us. We had to follow the rules, yeah. Being quiet and whotnot. "No groping", Andrew said. Awh. Disappointment. Anywho. It seems like an easy choice to make, though, right? Well.. the people of West Chester don't really know how voting works... They asked us if we wanted them on stage. Everyone just yelled. Then they asked if we wanted the "singalong". They yelled again. We had to be instructed by the Band on how to vote. When they asked again, not ONE person wanted them on stage. It was.. pretty funny. Also, just for shits and giggles, they told us about.. Florida. The day in Florida, the crowd told them to stay on stage. Andrew was offended. So, they came down.. into the crowd- who sat down- and guess where they decided to stand? About 2 feet from me. Andrew Volpe. 2 feet from my hands. In a non-creepy way. Believe me, I don't want to molest the guy. Just get him to touch my hand. And he did. ^^ A nice high five. But don't worry.. the night got better. In the middle of their song, he looked at me. Direct eye contact for a solid 10 seconds while he sang. I guess it's a little dream of mine to be serenaded. It's cute.
They finished. Left the stage. Night's over. BUT WAIT. The crowd is chanting! Ludo! Ludo! Ludo! and.. guess who came back?! THEY DID. An encore song! what a great time..
Oh, don't worry.. there's still a bit more. After the show, we hung around the floor and just talked. Then, Good God. This is where I basically almost peed my pants. Guess who walked by? MATT PALERMO. The guy is like.. the cutest thing since.. bunnies sitting in a field of flowers. No joke. I ran to him. Again, no joke. Ran. I think I scared him a bit.. but I was shaking. SO shaking. Shaking now, just thinking about it. He's incredible. I swear. GOSH. So.. I ran to him.. and.. stood there. Like a COMPLETE DOOFUS. I ended up jumbling and spitting the words out. Something about a picture and a hug. A hug? AHUG. I GOT A HUG FROM MY FAVORITE MUSICIAN IN MY FAVORITE BAND. He was so cute about it, too. All smiley. Then we got a picture together. And the night couldn't have gotten better.
WRONG.
Would you guys believe me if I told you I HUGGED EVERY MEMBER OF LUDO!? BELIEVE IT. Because I DID! EVEN ANDREW! Went from Matt to Tim Convy. He was sweet. With his white shirt and white bowtie. Then to Tim Ferrell. He's kinda gross.. icky long hair. Buy he was super nice to us. Signed Dan's t-shirt, too. And then.. Andrew came out. He's like.. 5 feet tall.. What a small guy. But.. he was also uber nice. Got a hug. Got a picture. AND GOT MY PHONE SIGNED. No joke here, folks. He signed the back of my phone. I'm never losing this thing. My sister got all shy and stuff, too.. So I told her I'd get her phone signed for her. Going up to Andrew twice. It was easier the second time. She wanted her screen signed. yes. The touch screen. So he did.. and.. I got to whisper in his ear. I wanted to surprise my sister. I asked him to put a heart on it. I think Alyssa almost.. died inside of happiness. She was just all smiles. A great thing to see. Really. ^^
Did I miss a few people? Yeah.. Let's see... Ludo : Andrew, Matt, Tim and Tim. Sparks: Hugged the lead singer. Don't know his name yet.. he almost pushed me over, because he put his arm on my shoulder a little too heavily. I blame my lack of hydration for my balance. Anywho. He sold us a CD for 5 bucks. It was worth it. Stamps: Don't think I talked to much of anyone from that band... just one guitarist, Hannah. She gave us a flier. Tommy and the High Pilots: This one was fun. I got a hug from Tommy. Words.. no need for words. But if I had to.. it was THE BEST hug I've ever received from anyone over the course of my entire lifetime so far. He hugged me so damn tight for so damn long. When he let go, he whispered "that was more than a hug." I promise, I wasn't groped or anything.. but he was such a sweetheart. And I think I melted into that hug. I could've been there forever. I miss it, really..
*****************************************************************************************
So, it was definitely worth the $19 we paid for admittance. Well worth my time and energy. My feet hurt. My knees hurt. My neck and back hurt. But, I hugged Ludo. And Tommy.. <3 God, Tommy. Newfound love for him.
But.. I'm out of stories.. and.. I'm tired. D: If you read that entire thing, I have to sincerely thank you. I got bored typing it. It took forever. So, if you did read it all, I applaud and thank you. And I'll let you go without a quote. It'd just be more reading to do. Or I could just make it a lyric... Hmmm...
Quote for the.. music lover in me. Anything can be a weapon if you're holding it right. Defend what is yours. ~Ludo. Andrew Volpe. Save our City.
G'night, loves.<3
