There is a world that exists in my imagination. I didn't used to know much about it, but the other day I thought about it and gained more detail. I've been reminded of it or caught glimpses of it when certain sounds, music, movies, and other things made me feel a certain way. Lonely, melancholy, depressed, tragic, despairing. But it's a specific mix of those emotions. It's a bitter, terribly cold, place. Ice and snow and wind and rain are everywhere. Sometimes there's no sound or movement of the air at all. Other times it's a howling storm. Or a blizzard. Sometimes a thunderstorm or a rainstorm. Sometimes just howling winds. Sometimes snow gently falls. Rain might sprinkle or drizzle or mist. Whatever the weather, it's always cold. It's wonderful and beautiful and majestic. And at the same time horrible and awful and miserable. It's the kind of place that you can't bear to leave, but yet you can't bear to stay. There are trees there, but I'm not sure if they're made of ice, crystal, wood or ice-covered wood. Perhaps there are different trees made of different things. They're all bare and lifeless though. There are crystal and rock formations in a lot of places too. Mountains and hills and plains and valleys. If you go to the ocean, it's frozen solid and you can walk across. But in some places the ice gets thin, and you need to be careful. If you fall in, you'll sink into an endless, dark, icy, abyss. All the rivers and streams and waterfalls are frozen mid-flow. There are no birds, animals, fish, plants, except the dead trees. In a few places you might find a stone village or castle. All of them are empty. No signs of life, except for the odd table or chair. Far up in the mountains there is a palace, though. It's made of crystal, or diamond. I don't know. It's the most majestic and beautiful palace anyone has ever seen. Rooms and rooms and rooms. Throne rooms and dining rooms and all kinds of rooms. Everything is made of crystal. But tbere's no furniture except for the two thrones in the main throne room. If you go off into the wilderness and manage to not get lost, there's a a small valley, surrounded by two tall, rocky, hills. In the center of the valley is a small spire of rock. Or at least it appears that way, when you get closer you see it's actually a stone rose. Carved from the stone in the valley. But it's only partially carved out. About three quarters of the rose are visible, and it seems to merge into the rock almost naturally.
