Printer Blues-an essay on how printers suck
To kill the printer or not to kill the printer...I still ask this question...

After completing the editing of Tableau's second chapter, I try to print out a copy of the first two chapters for my dad. He likes to read my stories and sorta acts as my grammar check. It spits out the first page and it's fine. The next page is missing half of the top margin and the next has no margin to speak of and the top half of the first line is cut off. In aggravation, I push the cancel button on the printer and decide to resend the command. It does the same darn thing.
I go to the control panel and weasel myself into the printer settings and there's nothing off about it. Letter sized paper, portrait format, normal quality paper. I change the printing quality to best hoping for that to fix my problem..........Nothing doing, It does the same damn thing...>.<
I drag my dad into the room hoping he knows something about the problem since he was the one who borrowed it from me fro the last half a year...He goes into the printer settings through the word program and the format was on landscape instead of portrait. We changed it back still confused as to how this could have been and send the print command again...nothing happens....we turn off the printer and turn it back on.....nothing happens. Back to the control panel, delete the commands on the list...but one won't go away....and its status says deleting! We wait for five minutes and its STILL THERE and its status is STILL DELETING!
So we can't find out if we even fixed the problem. Dad goes back to watching a movie and I start typing up the next chapter of my book. forty five minutes later, I check the command list to find that the damned thing is STILL DELETING and I wonder if I try to print my document, will it, in fact, print? Of course, the answer is no. I turn off the printer in frustration and seriously debate throwing it out the window.
I think now it the time to look back on previous years and remember the advice of my computer teacher Mr. Spivey, "All printers suck! It don't matter which brand or where you get it or how much you pay for it! They all suck! And they will always suck!" I never thought I'd say this, but I couldn't agree more, Mr. Spivey. Printers do suck.
You may be wondering how my debate over giving the printer flying lessons went. Rest assured that it is still all in one piece and made no impression on my window, no, I decided that I'm just going to give it to good old Mr. Spivey to fix. God forbid he have another reason to get mad in his classroom...ha!
