At the new house we are moving into I had a memory. Of a diffrent time, A diffrent place. Mabey even a diffrent world.
Before life turned sour by bitter memories of a childhood better forgotton, it was a dream. Like a fairy tale that skipped to the 'Happily Ever After' at the end. Nothing to bother me or hurt me. I was in a protective bubble. I was hidden from the world and it's faminies, it's plauges, it's crimes. A sweet and innocent youth.
That all changed. But back to my backwards tale.
It was when we lived in the house with the screened in backdoor porche, with the white picket feence. Back when we still owned Furby and mommy and daddy were still together.
Momma would read to me every night. I can't remember much, clearly, but I know I was happy, because I was smiling. I loved to here a story read allowed to me. I still do. Sometimes we would run out into the yard with a jar and catch fireflies just to use as a nightlight. We'd just watch them fly around in the little jar then I'd let them out to play.
I remembered when I saw them dancing around the bushes of our new house like pixies. Lost in a trace of mulnipulation that draws the flies into the plant. Luring and relaxing.
I had to come back to reality. Where I have to understand that i've already experienced my 'Happily Ever After'. Which should be renamed. It doesn't last forever afterward. It only last so long, and then that's when things get bad.
Now i'm experiencing the first part of Cinderella's tale last, because i've already worn down my slippers until I broke them. I've grown to accept that I'm not getting a new pair of glass slippers, this was my only pair and I was too niave to care about them until I used them up. Along with all the happiness that was left in my life.
