So far my life was like this...
I lived in Taiwan until I was about three years old. My parents wanted to start anew and moved to Tampa, Florida. They knew that there was something strange about me that made me different from the rest of the kids. I remember being afraid of moving. It wasn't just to a new city, but to a whole new country! Lucky for us, our neighbors were also Taiwanese and they had a boy my age, too. Actually, he was a year older than me. He was always picking on me every chance he gets, but he chases down anyone else who teases me. It was like I had my own sort of super hero... who was mean to me. If that makes sense...
His name was Weston Wu and I relied on him for almost everything. He felt like an older brother to me. He was my rock in this new place. It wasn't that hard learning English. When you're three, things come to you quickly.
I started noticing something weird about me when I started school. Being my clumsy self I often fell, causing scrapes and scratches all over my body. I'd react by saying something I didn't understand myself and by the time a teacher came to check on me, I'd be all better. I had no clue what was going on with me. I asked my parents, friends, even my siblings. They all thought I was either crazy, or just delusional. But one person gave me a different reaction. When I went to ask Weston, he just looked away and said, "You're special." I had no clue what he meant by that, of course.
When I started middle school, I wanted to test these 'powers'. I decided to recite the spell I did when I was going to get hit with a baseball. At that time my eyes were closed. "Parietis." At first, I didn't see any change. I walked forward, a little disappointed that nothing happened, then bumped into a sort of invisible wall. I showed my parents and they didn't seem all that surprised. When I got the letter, they were hesitant to let me go, but they knew I wanted to. I wanted to learn more about these powers I had.
People describe me as..
an energetic girl who's too clumsy for words. I tend to trip over my own feet. I've also been told that I'm somewhat of an airhead who has a short attention span. But I do pay close attention when it really matters.

XXXXXNatalie waved good by to her family as she put her bags in the trunk and stepped into the car. She was going to miss her parents dearly and, thought she won't admit it out loud, she was goig to miss her twin brothers, too. The windows were tinted so she was able to cry without them seeing her. She was also going to be missing someone else. Her childhood friend, Weston, whom wasn't there at the moment. The thought of not being able to say 'bye' saddened her even more.
XXXXXThe driver slowly pulled out of the driveway, seeming a little startled of her tears. 'D-don't cry,' he said, stopping the car to wipe away his own tears. Natalie looked into the rearview mirror and noticed the man crying which somewhat shocked her. She had thought men were well... too manly to cry. She handed him a napkin which he gladly accepted and blew his nose into. He held it back in front of his with a thinking smile
XXXXX"Y-you can keep it," she said, leaning back in her chair. They were on the road again. Natalie gave a sad wave to Weston's house as they drove by it and noticed how all the other cars were passing theirs. She could hear some honking noises behind the car, too. This is going to be a long trip, she sighed and rested her head on the window, preparing for the long trip.
