(Here's the next li'l installment. ^w^ Again, constructive criticism is greatly appreciated~ And, thanks Jessica for the bit you gave me; I tried this time to work on my descriptions more. Are they better? o3o Oh, and I tried to give my dialogue a more natural feel, slang 'n all. Did it work? *trying not to seem desperate for criticism* >.>; )

The stairs were steep, but Aurealis traversed them easily. She could hardly contain her excitement, and it showed in the way she seemed almost to bounce in place even while running up stairs and through hallways. In her hurry, however, she missed seeing a shadowy personage come out of a room, opening the door quickly. Aurealis had only a few seconds to yelp before she crashed into the open door.

She fell on her backside, rubbing her face and groaning pitifully to herself as her nose seemed to throb in synchrony with her elevated heart beat. A tiny trickle of blood dribbled painstakingly slow out of her right nostril, and she wiped up the red liquid with her sleeve, not thinking of the stains it could possibly cause. Being a doctor of sorts, she knew how to get blood stains out of clothes, as that knowledge was necessary when dealing with patients on her home calls. The blood seeped into the rich cashmere-like coat, turning the navy blue into a dull red wherever it touched.

Massaging the bridge of her nose while checking for possible breaks, Aurealis looked up, a cross expression stealing over her face. Prepared to chew out whoever was inconsiderate enough to do that, she was startled to see Lee Prime offering a hand to her, his elfish face concerned. Aurealis felt a slight flush climb up her face, now embarrassed that she managed to smack into a door in front of the Security Manager.

“Gah, sorry Mr. Prime! I wasn’t watching where I was going, and the door just suddenly was there and I couldn’t stop in time…!” She rambled while accepting the hand offered. Lee pulled her to her feet with a wry grin, amusement dancing in his eyes.

“Sky, I hope you’re alright?” He asked, managing to turn a statement into a query of her wellbeing. Aurealis rubbed the back of her neck sheepishly. She now felt stupid for not paying more attention, even though she had a valid reason to be hurrying- at least, that is, she thought she did.

“Yeah, sorry, I’m fine. Should’a been paying more attention…” She mumbled, self-conscious of her messy appearance. Discreetly, she flattened her wind-blown hair and rubbed away the drying blood that was still left above her mouth. Even though she and Lee were good friends, it was still discomforting to be seen in such a state of disarray.

The blond-haired man just smiled and hugged her, blue arms encircling her back and patting it. Aurealis hugged back, grinning back and playing with his orange scarf.

“You wear orange too much,” she accused while grinning even wider. “Don’t you think you should vary it up some? Maybe some…pink? I know Jessica would be happy to help.” Aurealis couldn’t help laughing at that. The image of Lee in pink, which was Jessica’s favorite color, was too funny to resist. Lee just sweatdropped, knowing that their mutual friend would gladly help Aurealis go through with that thought.

“Well, anyways, I gotta get going. See you later!” She said cheerfully before turning and starting to jog through the hallway, this time attempting to be more careful. Lee just shook his head, smiling, and went on with his business.
