Tina was relaxing at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee, sighing happily to herself, "Well, now that Ray's family has departed...all of them... and everything is back to normal-"
"Well..." Aussa interrupted, staring out of a window, "One of those spirit foxes got to one of your fruits again."
"Oh for the love of Aslan...The other foxes aren't rolling it around again, are they?"
"Nope...They're using the bloated one as a trampoline."
Tina sighed, "I do not even know why I even strive to keep my sanity in this place. I mean...is there really a point?"
Aussa turned from the window, staring at Tina with a worried look, just as Zee walked into the room, stretching and yawning, obviously having just got up.
Tina's face was slightly red, even with her pale colored fur covering it, "It is only a matter a time before something else strange happens with us and we are once again pulled into some strange and possibly dangerous situation, all because of who we are or who we are affiliated with!"
Zee cleared her throat, making Tina snap out of her rant. "Just two questions, Tina. First off, what crawled up your butt and died?"
"I am just...how you say...on edge? So much has happened between us since the day you found me mourning over the remains of our home. It's as though my very spirit has been tested since the day I met you and your friends."
"Wow."
"I am in need of a vacation."
"what you need is a lobotomy."
"Anyhoo, you had a second question?"
"Yep. Are you stain proof?"
"Pardon?"
Zee points down to the bit of coffee that had spilled onto Tina's chest. Tina only sighed and let her head drop to the table.
Zee sighs, putting an arm around her, "You need to loosen up. You're gonna drive yourself insane if you keep worryin' like this."
"It just seems like at any moment, trouble will just appear into our lives without any warning."
They all paused, and looked around, as if expecting something to just come crashing through the walls. After a few moments of silence, the three of them started to chuckle amongst themselves.
Later on, in the lounge, Ekone was laid back in an easy chair, while Tina and Ray were leaned up against each other on the couch. Zee was curled up on the floor, all of them staring at the TV, which suddenly cuts off, along with the power. Ray instantly jumped to this feet and Ekone looked about curiously. Zee and Tina sighed, before Tina slowly stood to her feet, "Ekone, be a dear and check on our house generator. I will go make sure the others are not in a panic. Sis, you know what you must do."
"Yeah yeah..." Zee growls as she slinks out of the room on all four with Ekone heading in the opposite direction.
Tina sighed, hanging her head, and Ray put a hand on her shoulder. "Are you ok?"
"I'm...fine..."
"Think you're in danger?"
"Sister dear would usually patrols the area with Zapook, but..."
"I know. I know."
The lights cut on suddenly, causing Tina to jump. Ray only smiled, hugging her. With her ears folded back, and a smile slowly spreading on her face as her hand slowly runs up and down Ray's chest. Ekone comes back into the room, ready to speak, only to freeze up at the sight of Tina and Ray cuddling. With a sigh, he left the room, mumbling to himself.
The next few days were pretty quiet, with the exception of Zee chasing off the usual stalkers, slayers and hunters. Tina's paranoia seemed to subside, especially around Ray. Ekone was quieter than usual, but stayed to himself, usually with Wolven and Fluffles around him, which was nothing on the of the norm.
A knock broke that silence and a dark figure peered in through the front windows. Yinxao was the one to open the door, clothe for once, wearing a sun dress. The cloaked figured grinned, putting this hood down, raccoon ears twitching on a seemingly normal human head. "Greeting's miss. I'm here to respond to a call put out by an anonymous citizen. A demon, stealing away young women."
Yinxao stared for a bit, before calling back, "Zee. Someone's trying to kill you again!" She then turned toward the raccoon and grinned, "She'll be down in a minute." And with that, she skipped off toward the kitchen, leaving the young coon staring in confusion into the empty front room.
As he peeked his head in, cautiously looking around, Zee walked in on all four, scowling as she usually does. With a grin, the young man leaned down, reaching toward Zee. "I take it you're head of the house, huh?"
Zee snapped her jaws at him, making him reel his hand back. "You can say that...and don't treat me like some little pet..." Zee growled as she rose to her feet.
"I wasn't. I was trying to offer my hand in a hand shake." He snapped, rubbing the tip of his fingers, as if he were bitten or at least checking for bite marks. "I take it you're Zee?"
Zee's eyes narrowed, and she began to growl. baring her claws, as the young man dusts himself off and stares at her.
"...You don't seem pleased with my being here."
"Wouldn't you be a little miffed if a slayer came into your home?"
"I understand your concern, but I'm here to better the lives of those in this area. All it takes, ma'am, is the removal of one element. You see, I'm not the kind of slayer that...well...slays. I'm the-"
His speech was interrupted by his own sudden movements as he barely dodges a fireball that seemed on target with his face...
As he regained his composure, Zee was already tossing another fireball up and down in one hand. "No one...is going anywhere..."
The young man stared in confusion before staring hard at her face, as his sifting through his own memories. "Wait...You're that Cat on the wanted posters, right? Heh...look, there's a misunderstanding her. I'm not after you!"
Zee was already in a pitching stance, when she froze up, clutching her hand around the ball of fire and dispersing the flame. "What? Who else would you be here for? ...You're after my sister..."
"No no, ma'am! I didn't even know you had a sister!"
"SPIT IT OUT! WHADDAYA WANT!?" Zee growled, making him stumble backward a bit.
"Uh...I...He gulped."
Tina and Ray ran into the room, slightly startled, "Sis! Are you ok?! What is the meaning of all the yelling?!"
Ray clenched his chest, panting, "Seriously man, you scared us! You're not being attacked are you?"
Zee looked back with a nonchalant look, yet her eyes lit up as a dagger flew past her face. Tina let out a scream, and Ray, managed to catch the dagger by the blade with his claws, as the very tip of it was but one or two inches away from his face.
Tina and Zee stared at the dagger, before slowly looking back at the young man, who had four more daggers out now. "Ladies...I'm going to have to ask you to step aside."
Ray stares confused, "Did I do something wrong?"
The young man smiles, clearing his throat, "Well, you see-"
"Slam." Zee says, before kicking the door closed on the young slayer, who just stand on the front step, blinking.
Taking the hint, he retreats quietly, a few of the spirit foxes growling at him as he quickly makes his way down the road. "I'm going to have to approach this from another angle."
