My Crown, My Blade

She pointed the blade at me.
All the thoughts, which were running through my mind, stopped immediately.
“There was no chance we could be happy forever.” was the only thing I could say.
“It seems so.” she answered shortly and started to cry.
There were far worse situations to think off, so that I was happy with this one.
“Do what you have to do.” I said, while I stepped closer to her.
With any step I took the tip of the blade and the face I was charmed by came closer.
“Do you want to kill yourself!? It is my duty to end your life!” she yelled at me and walked slowly back.
I responded with the last smile of my life.
“You want to die. You really want to die.” she said, like she wanted to confirm it to herself.
“If I have to die, then I want to be killed by your hands. Pierce my heart, like you already did with your love!” was my answer to her silent question.
We came closer to each other and in the moment, when the first tear of blood ran down the blade, she stopped to move.
I walked the remaining path alone, until the entire blade crossed my body, so that I could embrace her.
The world became darker around me and I said with my last breath: “Please hold me until I am asleep. I always wanted to fall asleep while lying in your arms.”
With the last words I would ever hear, she answered: “Of cause. Relax and listen to my heartbeat. It beats just for you.”
With any beat of her heart the world became smaller.
And after a short while there was only endless darkness and the sound of her heart.
The heartbeat became more and more quite, until it was gone and then…
