Love
Gino laid on his soft bed, his hair was untied so it spread about him like the sun. It was late but he couldn't sleep. His red-violet eyes were half open staring at the dark canopy of his bed. His bare chest rose with a deep breath and he sighed. He knew he would be blamed for what happened to Ian. Accusations would be made by the Gaians he wanted to protect.
But, Gino thought, I have no reason to hurt him. If anything Gino now had a reason to hurt Sasha. But he wouldn't. He wouldn't break her heart, he wouldn't harm her. Gino needed to keep up this act. Love the ditz and no one would suspect his true feelings. Gino was jealous of Sasha, jealous that she could gain Ian's attention with a single look and be so blind when Gino had to try so hard just to get a glance.
Gino had devised a plan. Originally, it had been just to get Ian's attention. But then it became more of a social factor. Gino rescued Sasha to repay her. He had kissed her to make Ian jealous and, as stated before, to get his attention. Afterwards he got together with Sasha because thats what people expected of him.
Valentines Day, Gino had gotten Sasha an expensive present, he had gone to Ian's hospital room where he knew she would be. When he got there he wasn't angry because Sasha was paying attention to Ian but because Ian was smiling at her. The smile Gino wanted to be his, the smile he wanted to see every day that was just for him. It was weak but it was love.
And now, as Gino laid on his bed, tears, as pure as crystal, fell from his eyes. A sob sounded from his throat. He laid on his side and curled into a ball, wishing to shrink into nothing. Ian would never want Gino. Sasha had an advantage over Gino, a big one. She was a woman.
This made Gino curl up even tighter. He had always had a slight hope that he could be with Ian but now that hope lay shattered in a bed of thorns. Bordered tears flowed from Gino's closed eyes as he choked back whimpers. He finally fell asleep feeling like he wanted to die.

The next day Gino had woken up and pretended like nothing happened last night, the memory pushed away. He had bathed, dressed and tied back his golden hair. He left his mansion around nine a.m., not knowing where he was headed. He wound up at the hospital Ian was staying at, not only was he in the hospital Ian was at, but he was in Ian's room. Gino noticed Ian looked more peaceful now that the respirator was gone.
Gino stood by Ian's bed and watched the sleeping man breath. Gino stood back with a pained expression on his face. He hugged himself and bit his lip. Why had he come? It hurt him even to look at Ian. Gino opened his mouth, as if to say something, maybe to tell Ian something he wouldn't hear, but he closed it and let go of himself and gently pushed the hair away from Ian's face. Gino leaned close to Ian, their faces only centimeters apart. Gino delicatly touched Ian's cheek.
"I....love you." He said and, ever so lightly, placed a kiss on Ian's lips. Gino stood and quickly turned. He walked to the door and looked back. He smiled and left.
~~~
Ian awoke to the sound of the door shutting. His lips tingled slightly and he touched them wondering why they felt that way. He removed his hand and looked at the ceiling. He had dreamed about a golden haired angel that offered him love but left before Ian could give his answer.
Tears started to build up in Ian's eyes and he didn't know why.
The End
