I was not asked,
To be born on this Earth,
But yet I'm here,
By nature and birth.

Will you hold and comfort me,
For just awhile,
Or kiss and cuddle me,
Cause I'm just a child.

Will you love me forever,
And keep me so near.
Watch my first smile,
A memory so dear.

Hold out your arms,
As I take my first walk,
Or get all excited,
When I baby talk.

When I get older,
Will you teach me a prayer?
Or have some long talks,
To show that you care.

Now if I get sassy,
Or try to demand,
Don't let me get spoiled,
Just take a firm hand.

And when I'm growns up,
And still by your side,
Will you remember these moments,
With just as much pride?
