Chapter 7 The Lone Wind Part 1 Darkening Pace
Chapter 7 The Lone Wind Part 1 Darkening Pace

Traveling the seas was a nice change of pace, but it was kind of dangerous especially for me.
First off is that despite living for over a century and a half, I couldn’t swim let alone float.
The other problem is that being out here in open waters and have almost no control where to go, any storm could appear at any second and if the waves get to wild. I go overboard.
But I have been sailing for three days and I could see Australia over in the horizon, nothing bad could happen I keep saying to myself.
I should also learn to shut up too.
As if on cue, a storm hit. The waves were crashing all around me and the wind was fierce, but I kept heading towards land. I wasn’t going to give up. Then I was suddenly rising higher up into the air and realized I was on a wave.
“Ahh, COME ON!” I shouted as I fell into the dark cool depths of the Indian Ocean.
Man, well, I guess I’ll see my life again. Hmm, I wondered if I could just see the ones with Hikari.
I lost conciseness.
***
I soon found myself in a dream.
I was in a field of flowers again. I looked to see that it was the same place from after Lesth stabbed me.
Dang, I can’t die. I didn’t want to die now. I searched for a dark area, but there was none like it, but then I saw a little boy who was crying.
Figuring that there was nothing else to do, I went to the boy.
“You okay, kid?” I asked.
He looked at me and I was shocked. He was a younger version of me.
“No mister, I am looking for my friends, but I can’t find them. I keep calling for them, but they don’t respond. Maybe they abandoned me.” He started to cry again.
I remember this day. It was the day before I met Hikari.
“Hey kid, don’t worry, you’ll find them. Those other punks they weren’t your friends. They just used you, but listen. Soon you’ll find true friends. Ones you can always rely on.”
“You think so mister?”
“Yep, but remember to treated them better than those others did to you.”
“Yes, sir.”
“Good, listen why not relax and go to that tree over there tonight. I here that when the sky is clear, you can see the full moon tonight.”
“Sounds fun. By the way, mister, do you that for your friends?”
“Yes, why?”
“Then why do you push them away from you?” He said with menacing eyes.
“What?” This didn’t happen.
“Why do you insist that you are protecting your friends by pushing them away? What if you are hurting them more instead?” Clouds started to turn darker.
“Maybe, you really want to be Nobody. To not feel pain, to not be emotional, to be completely isolated.”
His skin started to turn dark and his eyes became red. I stepped back.
“I can do that for you. I can release you from your burdens. Then you can truly become a Nobody.” His hair turned white and he slowly began to deform a little.
“What are you?” I asked.
He came close and said while crushing my mask. “I am you.” Then he look like he was to strike me, but then darkness enveloped me.
“So close, maybe another time than.” He said as he vanished as I plunged into the darkness with a bright light opening behind me.
***
I woke up to see myself in an old shack. I stood up in the bed and took off my mask. That experience, what was it? I felt strange. I grabbed my face and looked to see nothing had changed.
Then the shack door open and a girl came in.
I looked and realized I took off my mask. She gasped and said, “You’re awake.” See had a tray of food and placed it on my bed. “Please eat, you need to recover your strength.” She sat on a chair that was in the room.
“You don’t hate me?”
“You’re the Nobody right?”
“Yes.”
“Then you’re a okay in my book even if you are him. Also my name is Charlie.”
I looked down at the soup she prepared for me. I began to drink it. It was then that I realize I didn’t have my original clothes on.
“Where are my clothes?” I asked.
“Oh, they are drying out near the fireplace. You were soaked to the bone when I found you. I brought you to my house. Changed you, dried you off, and laid you here. You kept mumbling in your sleep and I tried to get that mask off, but it was stuck on you.”
“Wait you dressed me?” I turned a little red.
She patted me in the back. “Don’t worry about it. I grew up with many younger brothers, so not only did I have clothes, I turned into a bit of a tomboy.” She winked.
I made a little sweat drop, but she seemed very nice. “Fine, but where are my blades?”
“Right there.” She pointed. “You know how do you have swords anyway? I thought all swords were lockdown when Navimle took over.”
“I stole them from lockdown saying they were checked into inventory as well as a few other blades hidden my clothes.” I said.
“Why blades anyway?”
“Truth be told. I hate killing and guns are meant for instant kills, but swords I can hit them with the blunt side or slice them if they are a threat. With guns I can either damage them and have them come at me or kill them.”
“That seem very stupid. Using a sword in a gun warfare, but hey your choice. Although I prefer just punching them out.”
“How do you get close?”
“Oh, well I have great reflexes and speed to boost. Played for my school sports teams. Made me strong too.” She giggled.
Cute yet strong, it is a very scary combination.
I finished eating then went and changed.
“Thanks for the meal and hospitality. You know for a tomboy, you are really girly.” She turned red and started shouting excuses. Once she calmed down, I asked where the Tyrant Wrulthsta was currently. She was known for both her anger as well as her beauty. Some claimed that her beauty was so foreign and bright that she might be either being a vampire or something to that nature.
“Oh, her,” she said sourly. “I hear she is in a castle near the center of Australia that is hard to find. But I’ll take you there.”
“What? But that could be dangerous.”
“I can protect myself.” She exclaimed.
She looked at me with a serious face than she turned to a sneaky one.
“If you don’t I’ll tell the world who and where you are.”
“T-Th-That’s blackmail. I could kill you.”
She made puppy dog eyes. “You would kill me?” I broke, but quickly said. “Fine, but that was extremely girly.”
She kicked me in the head.
***
Once we straighten things out, we headed towards the city limits, but we saw a tollbooth to exit with many guards ready to jump Nobody if he passes.
Charlie casually walked with me sneaking behind in the shadows. We slowly made our way there till we reached the booth.
“I would like to leave.” Charlie said.
“Fine, no problem just take this security check.”
“Very well.” She said.
Apparently security increased when Lesth was killed and it made patrol through the remaining countries with tyrants in them.
I quickly stood right under the tollbooth window and waited for Charlie.
Soon she came out and the gate open.
I was about to slowly walk out with her when guards shouted, “THERE HE IS!! GET THE NOBODY!!!”
I got up, but was shot with a rope gun tying my legs together and I feel to the ground.
I managed to get my blade and an arm out before they were wrapped by the second rope gun. I began to start to cut the rope around my legs. They were strong. I needed at least 2-3 minutes, but the guards would be here in less than 30 seconds.
Then all of a sudden the first row of guards were knocked down and Charlie now with a staff stood between the guards and me.
“Nobody, hurry and get going.”
I began to cut the rope faster and manage to free my legs, but the gate began to close.
“Nobody, GO!! I’ll join you later. Find Vayu and tell him I need help.”
I was going to protest, but she ran towards me in a split of a second and kicked me through the gate when it close with her being capture saying, “I believe in you, Nobody.”
I didn’t want her sacrifice go in vain, so I ran tears running down my face as the clouds covered the sun and a few shadows that were unbeknownst to me disappearing with it.
