Now, I have recently seen lots of people reading the House of Night series around school, so I asked a person I knew who liked the books for the first one.
I started reading it.
Well, first off, I was somehow hooked onto it, even though Zoey was a horrible Mary-Sue, there was insane amounts of vulgar language, obvious Christian-bashing, and even anybody with a religion bashing basically. Did I mention the almost blow-job? No? Well, there was one.
I felt that it was a horrible book, and I shouldn't have read it. The obvious lifting up of Wicca and Paganism was sickening, and made me squirm. I wanted to punch somebody for being so freaking steriotypical and bashing Christians and religion as much as this book did. The spells, smudge sticks, and other things were painful to read for me, I felt as if Wicca and Pagan practices were being shoved down my throat. I couldn't put the book down, as horrid as it was, just for the soul purpose of seeing how much worse it could have possibly gotten.
It got worse.
I'm reading the second book now, for some odd reason.
Now, there were pros: I liked the way the authors came up with the 'vampyres '(Insanely stupid name) and the new traits to go along with them.
That was about it.
I will not, nor ever, suggest this book to anybody.
I repeat, DO NOT READ MARKED, OR ANY OF THE HOUSE OF NIGHT BOOKS!!
