Example One:
It was winter finally, the fresh powdery snow covered the once green earth and chilled the air, inside the fire was dancing within the fire place, the rugs covered the wooden floors, and the kettle in the kitchen whistled merrily away. Usually she would notice the change of season, rejoice in it, but this year she did none of that, this year she was owned by him. He was a Lord of the King, a favorite all the people would say, but to her, she seen no good in him. Lounging on one of the larger rugs in front of the fire, she stared into the flickering flames as they danced with each other in a entrancing way, she remembered how it was before he took her away from her family and home.
She knew better though, to never go down that trail of thoughts, it would upset him greatly. It was unknown to her how he knew what she thought, or what she did while he was gone, the help only came when he was home, or when he requested something to be done while he was away, like today. The help was flying about the home getting it the winter rugs down, the beds covered in furs, and the food from the fields still there into the storage rooms. Winter had come unexpectedly this year, early, so the Lords home was not prepared nor was the village people surrounding his lands. No one bothered her though, she was out of the way, quiet, and behaving. Its what he wanted and expected from her, she didn't understand why when she knew he enjoyed punishing her, he seemed to gain great joy from it.
Rolling onto her back, she stared at the high vaulted ceiling of the living room with half closed eyes, it would be a year this day, the anniversary of him taking her from everything she knew to this place, to be his, she didn't know what that meant til a week after her arrival at his home, she then knew what hell was and she would do anything to escape it. Now, she had no want to escape, it was futile, and a waste of time. Sighing she brushed her hair from her face and pushed herself up into a upright position, he would be home soon, the clock on the far wall told her that as it chimed four times and then went silent. Dinner was at six, he always arrived home an hour before to spend quality time with her, she detested the time spent with him, since it wasn't really him. Cuddling her and treating her like another one of his many lovers, no, reality for her, was a slap to the face for something she couldn't remember doing, and a romp in the sheets before being told to clean up and get out of his room.
She was used to the treatment by now, felt no pain or hurt from his actions and words, if anything she hungered for them, it showed she was still alive and breathing. Turning her head slightly she stared out the large bay windows, noticing finally the fluffy snow falling to the ground below her vision, it was known as the time of cleansing, of purity, but to her, it was none of that. Sighing once more she stood up and walked slowly to the window and pressed her palms against the icy glass, breathing lightly on the glass she watched it fog up before fading slowly back to its crystal clear surface. Turning her head slightly, she heard the front door open, unfazed, she thought it was just a visitor searching for the Lord, but she was surprised as male arms wrapped around her waist and tugged her against a cool chest. Tilting her head slightly, she seen the blond strands of hair in her vision and knew he was home.
"My Lord, you're home." Shivering slightly, she stared blankly out the window, something was off, he was home early it caused a fear to bubble up within her chest. A soft rumbling chuckle flowed threw her body as his arms tightened around her slim waist. "My precious, I see that you behaved while I was gone today, I have a little surprise for you." Releasing her he strode over to the couch near by and lifted up a bag. Blinking she stepped away from the window and walked slowly toward him, fearful but curious. The bag was handed to her, her curiosity overrode the fear, opening the gleaming bag she pulled out winter attire, boots, a coat, mittens. Looking up at him in surprise she held out the items, not knowing what to do. "Were going to go outside and enjoy the first snow fall."
