You've all heard of the Golden Queen of the Nile, Pharaoh Cleopatra?
Well, I recently watched a documentary on Cleopatra and it fueled my hatred for that Queen even more.
She was believed to be saving Egypt by using her Feminine appeals on Julius Cesar and Mark Antony to achieve power and protection, and to eliminate the competition of the Egyptian Throne. But in the end, her efforts were a failure and lead to her eventual suicide as Egypt fell apart around her. Cleopatra was the last Pharaoh, with Egypt falling under the hands of Roman empire and becoming a democracy.
That's just common knowledge though.
After her sister, who was crowned Pharaoh after her younger brother -then pharaoh- died, became Queen, Cleopatra took sides with Julius Cesar and the rebellion, to de-throne her sister. Her sister was then turned into a war trophy for Julius Cesar and taken back to Rome for a 'ride' of shame. She was placed in the Temple of Artemis, which was a safe haven for refugee's, where she would be treated as royalty. That year she was placed in the Temple, Julius Cesar was murdered, opening the doors to the Temple where Cleopatra's sister was no longer safe. Cleopatra sought after Mark Antony, who would give her protection and more power.
I planned to rant more on this but I left my computer for too long to remember all that I was going to say. :'D
