Josh Groban - You Raise Me Up
Makes me cry every time. this song makes me think of the best thing i ever had, and always will have in my life. It reminds me of Gloria Toledo. She was a family friend. Who owed me and my mother nothing. Yet... she took us in, when eberyone else in our family died... it was just me and my mom she took us in. And she taught me how to read and write and count. She let us live with her when we made a new start. And she spoiled me so much as i grew up. she always helped my mom out with whatever she needed...But I never really appreciated her until it was too late. She had cancer and was dying fast. And i remember the last tme i ever saw her. I got to the hospital and her whole REAL family was there. they all said she was unresponsive, not even her husband or children could get her to acknowledge them. but i went in anyway to see her. Me my mom and Gloria's children.. And i stood next to her and I siad " gloria?" and her eyes shot open and she started reaching her arms out towards me. she even tried sitting up but the doctors held her down. She made gargling sound as if trying to speak but the words didn't come out.. I started crying right there and I fell into her arms and she was so frail... i just kept saying "I love you" over and over again and she hugged me back and softly kisses my cheek and said my name.. the first thing she had said in days. It was gargled but i understood it. I left soon after that and she died that night...I'm still filled with regrets about how i didn't spend enough time appreciating her. I still have the last thing she ever bought me.. A pair of jeans.. Its something so simple.. but its one of my most cherished possessions....anyway I didn't mean to get this in depth hahaha xD but meh lol xd As long as i keep her n my heart she'll always be alive biggrin
Here are the lyrics to You Raise Me Up in dedication to Gloria Toledo!
When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.
You raise me up... To more than I can be.
Rest in peace Gloria.... You are very loved and we all miss you smile Please watch over me as I live my life biggrin
