Election Day:
The Warmongers Have Already Won

5th May 2005

It's May 5th 2005. The date long talked about as election day. We knew here months ago, last year even, that today would be the general election, long before they'd announced the date.
Not that the election will make much difference since the prospect of any nasty surprises seems unlikely. I'm not speaking out of my hat here. I spent a few days in the Prime Minister's constituency of Sedgefield in the north of England.

Jimmy Walter, the sponsor of Reopen911.org, provided support for several 9-11 Truth activists to descend on Tony Blair's (very) occasional back garden. By informing people about the 9-11 cover-up we hoped to help convince the voters of Sedgefield to unseat the PM.

17,000 copies of "Confronting The Evidence", the free DVD provided by Walter's website about the 9-11 attacks, were distributed to houses in Blair's constituency. Newspaper adverts were run in the local and regional newspapers, coinciding with the DVD drop to raise awareness of the issue.

But the most fun was had when, clad in "9-11 IS A LIE" T-Shirts, we paid a visit to Mr Blair's constituency house and delivered one of the DVDs, a fistful of Deception Dollars, and one of our very fetching T-Shirts.

UK 9-11 Skeptics Pay Tony Blair A Visit

I believe that Mr Blair knows far more about 9-11 than he's letting on, but our exercise let him know that we know, if you know what I mean!

We met a very friendly crew from Danish TV2 and thanks to Ulla and Karsten, we appeared on the Danish evening primetime TV news. We're hoping to get a copy of the report, so fingers crossed.

While in Sedgefield, I helped conduct an informal poll for which more than 500 people were interviewed. Sadly, support in the constituency for Blair was overwhelming, considering the number of candidates running against him. Reg Keys has focused the issue of losing his son in the Iraq War, whilst Jonathan Cockburn of the "Blair Must Go" party campaigned on a number of issues.

Whilst we met people who felt that Blair had done nothing for his own constituents during his eight years in power, we also met diehard third generation Labour supporters - lots of them. They remember all too clearly that the Conservative Party closed down the local coal pits. It may take another term of Labour for them to be similarly disenchanted with the the current mob in power.

I think it's fair to say that it is a mob, so really it should have a capital M. Mob. There, I said it and I'm confident of saying it. The newspapers have confirmed it for us. Did you see the news stories about the plan to invade Iraq stemming back as far as July 2002? Whilst we were being told that there were no plans to invade Iraq, Blair had already agreed in private with his Colgate-sharing friend Bush that they would create a pretext to invade Iraq.

I repeat - they agreed to create a pretext to invade Iraq. Except they never told us about it. Those of us who had figured out what was going on and called them on it were called "conspiracy theorists." Well I guess the conspiracy theorists were right.

Of course it wouldn't do to dwell on such issues for very long, so the news quickly changed the subject. MediaLens have explained how this has happened, though they refer to the disappearance of coverage about the Attorney General's advice on the legality of the Iraq war. Because neither of the main parties want to dwell on the issue, the news companies and newspapers have also moved on. Screw the public / audience / voter.

So on we go with the same old charade.

Can you believe who the Tories put up to run against Blair in Sedgefield? Former Group Captain Al Lockwood, who was the fighter pilot military spokesman in Iraq for the recent invasion. One candidate advised me that the Tories had to field an extreme right-winger like Lockwood because the had to have someone who looked at least slightly different from Blair. Isn't that grand? Get the warmonger to run against the warmonger. Some choice.

Incidentally, there doesn't seem to be much info available on the web about Lockwood. So all we really know is that he got his hands dirty in Iraq.
