Kagura slammed the door behind her. It's been a long day working with Mello and Matt. She was never happy when she worked anymore. The reason was Near. Near's presence reminded her of the greatest tragedy she ever experienced: losing L.
"L, honey!" she called into the house. "I'm home!" She dropped her bag on the table and kneeled in front of the shrine she made to L. See, L was her first love. Not just a schoolgirl crush. Her first real and true love. Sure, it just started as a plan she made with Light to infiltrate the police department. She and her Shinigami, Nekonarra, got a job working for L. At first, it was just normal high respect for him. But it eventually turned into something more.
Kagura made two sweet kabobs and laid one in front of the picture of L that was surrounded by candles. She knew him well. She told the picture all about her day as if he was actually there. She wished that Light hadn't killed him and that he was there to comfort her on her worst days. But she was grateful that before he died, she told him her feelings and got at least one kiss.
However, that kiss was also a cruel reminder of the thing she lost. "And that was my day." Kagura said with a forced smile. She was sure that L wouldn't want to see her so miserable. But eventually it would take over.
"L...." she sighed, "I miss you. I really wish you didn't die. Even if it was for a good cause. Your death made me stop supporting Kira. And I pray that where ever you are, I will see you again one day." Then she remembered something, "Oh, I probably won't. A Death Note owner can't go to Heaven or Hell."
This realization saddened Kagura even more. She hung her head and began to sob, "I-I hate this. I-I really wish I never picked up that Death Note. I-If I n-never picked it up, none of this probably wouldn't have happened." She became so much more miserable that she couldn't even speak anymore. She laid her head on the table next to L's picture and cried.
Her Shinigami, Nekonarra, inched close. Seeing her cry made his heart grow heavy and reminded him of how he felt when Kira took the daughter he left in life: Naomi Misora. He knelt next to the grieving girl and rubbed her shoulder affectionately. Even he wished she didn't pick up his Death Note. It broke what he had left of his heart to see her so miserable to lose the one man she loved.
"L's in a better place now." Nekonarra said in a sad attempt to comfort her. "Though you'll never see him again, I'm sure he's thinking of you now." Kagura's sobbing stopped for a while as she looked up at her Shinigami, her emerald eyes moist and filled with tears. "I'm sure he loves you." Nekonarra smiled down at her.
Kagura began to cry again and embraced her Half-Breed Shinigami, sobbing into his shoulder. "Oh, Nekonarra." she sobbed. "You're the best friend anyone could ever ask for." Nekonarra hugged her back and cried as well, both in sympathy and similar misery for losing his daughter.

Kagura's another Death Note fancharacter, the human owner of Nekonarra's Death Note. She used to support Kira, being a close friend of Light at the beginning. But in their plan to infiltrate the department, something went against Light's plan: Kagura fell in love with L.

When L died, she blamed Light and despised him for it. Since, Kagura worked with Near, keeping her promise to L:

"I promise I'll obey your successor without defiance, but I'll never forget you."
